thanks to stakem for the growler share, enjoyed in a stemless wine glass chilled

The color is golden with lots of haze like pineapple juice, thin white head small bead. The smell is torpical, fruity and very interesting with light sour notes and mild wheat with subtle floral and white grape odors. The feel is good with moderately smooth yeast and semi-low carbonation but moderately sour with light tanginess with subtle tropical juiciness and semi-sweet finish

The flavor is good with slight lychee taste with mild grape-like flavor and subtle element of yeast which adds a tart tinge to the sweet fruitiness with mild wheat aspect in the residual flavor. The flavor of the fruit adds a zesty tangy and mildly melon-like earthy quality which is nices with the sour tinge of the naturally tart berliner flavors. Overall an interesing pairing, thanks Heath and Adam for the share!

Big thanks to Kegatron for hooking me up with a 1-liter of this. Poured into a tired hands wine glass the brew appears a hazed golden color similar to fresh pressed cider but maybe a little more lighter yellow. A white fizzy cap audibly fades down to nothing.

The aroma is fruity with a lemony essence somewhat like yogurt blending into the fruity aspect of lychee that is almost like pickled ginger. Unique and inviting. Not a bold bouquet by any stretch but what emits from the glass is all good.

The taste initially has a tartness of lemon/pickled ginger like lychee that gets fruity and quite sweet towards the finish. It has a mildly grassy finish and a bit of cereal grains. When big gulps are taken a brief feeling of greek yogurt tang comes to mind but it is short-lived.

This is a light bodied brew with a light amount of fizzy carbonation that is short lived. At first the sweetness of the brew threw me off but as I sipped it more, it really grew on me. To me, this almost felt like what you would expect of a berliner to be like when served with a syrup at the time of consumption rather than having the fruit added in the fermenter. Regardless I enjoyed this quite a bit and im really impressed lately with the last 2 berliner offerings I got to try from Tired Hands. A few were quite off but it seems they are really dialing their berliner process in. Cant wait to see what else they come up with.

White head. Color is a hazed pale yellow.

Flavors of green apples and wheat. Tart. Lemon zest. A light funk. Citrusy. Very fruity.

Mouthfeel: light and crisp. Ends clean and refreshing.

Overall, really good stuff. Easy to drink. I could have a lot!

From 11/09/13 notes. On tap at the brewpub in Ardmore.

a - Pours a hazy pale yellow color with one inch of off white head and low carbonation evident.

s - Smells of sour grapes, sour fruits, lychee, citrus hops, grapefruit, and light floral and earthy notes. Nose is nice and the sourness is very light. No funk at all.

t - Tastes of sour grapes, sour fruits, lightly sour wines, spice, earthy notes, citrus, and tropical fruits. Little more sour than the nose, but not funky or overly sour. Refreshing, quite nice and a little more sour than the nose.

m - Medium body and low carbonation. Very drinkable as there is no alcohol to it, low carbonation, and it isn't too puckeringly sour.

o - Overall I thought this was a good light berliner, with no funk at all and very little sourness, though there is more in the taste. I liked it and found it easy to drink, and it makes me look forward to more of their sour offerings, though I would say if you love super sour beers don't expect this to be on that level.
