This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Blended Old Ale. A blend of 9 month old Flemish Red (25%), fresh Barleywine (65%), and rye whiskey barrel fermented Barleywine (10%). A meditative reminder that all things in life are cyclical. Turn up the volume and exercise caution!

On tap at TH.

Chestnut brown pour, dark and somewhat murky, with a small tan head that receded to a thin layer of bubbles, leaving a few dots of lacing on the glass. Earthy aroma, oak, nutshells, husky grains, burnt caramel, fruity phenols. In the taste, some sweet maltiness up front, a hit of grainy alcohol, earthy, woody, nutty, cardboardy, lesser notes of dark fruits, molasses, phenols, some cherry medicine. Seemed like something was off. It didn't really come off as an old ale or anything like a barleywine, but more like a quad or a basic strong ale. Medium body, mouthfeel a bit thinned out with alcohol. Strange, and again, a little off overall. Not undrinkable, but a small pour was enough for me. And of course, extra credit for the name.
