32 oz. growler poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Murky dark brown. Pond water. Small head with big, unstable bubbles. Doesn't last.
Smell - Weird musty cherry and nutty brown malt. A hint of acidity.
Taste - Straightforward berliner flavors up front. Cherry. Tart up front. Grainy. Finishes with a lingering musty cherry flavor and a bit of dark malts.
Mouthfeel - Light, musty, pleasantly tart. Medium carbonation.
Overall - Weird berliner, but nothing overtly off about it. It just doesn't seem to evoke the best combination of flavors.

On tap at TH.
Deep, dark maroon color, with a small pinkish-tan head that quickly fizzled down to a tiny ringlet; no lacing to speak of. Aroma of black cherry pulp, very grainy, with traces of yogurt. In the taste, cherry Juicy Juice, very low in tartness/sourness--in fact I hardly picked up any tartness at all--grains and lots of them, mineral notes, even a hint of sour cream in the aftertaste; sweetness was also low, the end result giving an effect something like an unsweetened cherry pie. Medium body, carbonation on the low side, and a pretty awkward mouthfeel. This one seemed a little unfinished, considering many TH BWs have been pretty good lately. The lack of tartness confused me.

Thank you Slatetank for the growler share. Poured into a matching Tired Hands 10oz wine glass, the brew appears a muddy chew spit brown. Somewhat hazy with that typical unfiltered hazed look that most TH offerings have. Bestill my heart!!! This beer has carbonation with a finger of khaki head that fades back to nothing rapidly.
The aroma includes notes of chocolate faintly with raisons and cherry. Some lemony lacto is an afterthought with an addition of other muddled fruity character that isnt quite distinguishable. Overall a pleasant nose to this.
The taste is tart and fruity like over-ripe cherry bordering on rotten and pitted (but in a good way.) Some raison, lemon and a bit of cider towards the finish. Whereas the aroma shows some maltiness, the flavor hardly reveals that this brew is dark.
This is medium to light bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. A pleasant berliner with a bit of dusty aftertaste and pleasant fruity complexity. It is not as good as some of Tired Hands other attempts at the style but for what it is, it is good and I would most certainly drink it again.

I enjoyed this from the growler chilled in a tulip shared with tenderbranson69, jc, KG and justin.
The color is deep woody coffee-like brown with light tan head, the smell is a mix of cocoa and sour cherry with slight hint of earth and funk. The feel is good with medium fruity sour and slight sweet feel with mild carbonation and semi-dry sour finish.
The taste is great with strong cherry-like tart stone fruit flavor with slight hint of malt with a cherry lemon on toasted finish with clean sour toward the finish with a very mild nutty note and mild yogurt -like lactic. Overall this is a wonderful sour, so glad I got to share this and enjoy this with friends -very tasty

Received this in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip.
A - Oh yah...this is hopefully an ugly duckling beer. Pours a very very muddy greyish brown hue with a thin half finger head fades very, very quickly to leave thin wisps. Really did pour the colour of sludge. That said..this IS what the guys at Tired Hands were going for. A "very dark, murky berliner"
S - Aromas of dark sour cherries, quite tart, nice wheat. Almost smells like a nice creamy bowl of oatmeal with loads upon loads of tart sour cherries. Actually smells really, really pleasant. Not super complex but well crafted.
T - Taste is loads of cherries and wheat. Not exactly fresh cherries, more like cherry pie filling. The wheat is pretty strong too, I think its actually knocking back the sourness, or atleast the sourness that should be there with a Berliner. The cherry flavour is really nice, the wheat is solid and where it should be. There is tartness, sure, but it is super, super faint...if that was dialed in this would be a winner.
M - Mouthfeel on this one is rough though. Very, very low carbonation and an almost slick mouthfeel.
O - Overall, the lack of tartness and the lowly carbonated mouthfeel does this one in. I don't think it was a growler issue either as someone who had it on tap said the same thing. Hmmm...nice cherry flavour though.

Appearance: Pours a dark muddy looking brown color with almost no head, save for a thin ring of white foam. Body is dark and nearly opaque with only small amounts of light visible around the edges of the glass.
Smell: Tart plum, cherry, grain.
Taste: Tart lemon with hints of black cherry, wheat, grain. Sourness is on the lower end of medium.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied and refreshing with low/medium gentle carbonation. No alcohol presence.
Overall: A bit disappointing by Tired Hands standards. Not bad but, I'd pass this one over for some of their other offerings.
