On tap at Tired Hands

A- pours an extremely hazy golden yellow with a small white creamy head, good retention and lacing

S- peppery rye with notes of lemon, white grape and orange, slightly floral

T- tropical fruit hop flavors mix with a danky and earthy hop, sweet bready malt, finishing sweet and fruity

M- medium body and carbonation, lead to a foamy mouthfeel with a smith and creamy finish

O- similar to Pineal, only with a touch of peppery rye

With the American brewer coming into their own, so is the unique and indigenous taste of their IPA. And that uniqueness pulls from the grips of British tradition and forms a hop-dominant but smoothly bitter taste that's classicly of the Pacific Northwest- or Pensylvania.

Frost Heaves pours with a hazy, peachy-gold color that glows softly in the back light. Its creamy froth that ensues billows to the rim like cotton. With its tremendous staying power and intricate lace, the beer is simply a beauty!

Tangy and fruity, the nose leads with citrus and tropical flavors, seemingly juicy and punch-like. With the thinnest malt underpinning, its wafer-thin tone is floral-sweet like honyesuckle. Mouthwatering, notions of green tea, chive and broken pine needles waft about while the first sip looms.

While its light honey and caramel presence is short-lived on the tongue, the middle palate bursts with juicy and vibrant goodness. Red grapefruit, mandarin, lemon, white grape, pineapple and passion fruit align beautifully on the taste buds for a zing and zeal that's as refreshing of a taste is it is strikingly compelling. Its dry and bready finish turns herbal like freshly mulled grasses and tea leaves, equipped with chive and pepper.

Again, its malty-dry tone is creamy and arid to start. But once the carbonation dissolves, the taste races to a bitter and tangy finish with light hop-derived acidity, fruity tartness and a sharply resinous pepper-like bite that trails with the bitterness of citrus peels.

Smooth, gripping and unapologetically hoppy, the American IPA is in good hands with Tired Hands!

Thank you Slatetank for sharing this growler with me. Poured into a tired hands wine glass, the brew appears a pale golden yellow color. Quite hazy to clouded with a white cap that fades to a thin film around the edges.

The aroma is rindy and pithy with some citus hops blending to more herbal with pith and pine. Somewhat floral and fruity as it evolves. Having had a nice spread of hoppy tired hamds brews lately, this has a familiar scent/base about it.

The taste is mildly rindy and grassy with ample bitterness. Slight pulp and zestiness with a green yeasty edge into the finish. Plenty of linear hop flavorings that blend together without any one note standing tall above the others. What is noted in the nose gets reiterated across the tongue.

This is a light bodied brew with a light amount of carbonation. A nicely hoppy brew that is pretty simple but easy drinking. Not bad but not that great either. Tired Hands has made better but I appreciate the chance to try this, thanks again Matt.

Thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing this growler with me, enjoyed in a tulip chilled.

The color is smoothie-like gold/amber with cloudy yet full head with copious lace and fine bead with sunset look like pineapple juice chilled. The smell is fruity and tropical in a general way with citrus rind and mango scent with a light green grape and floral hop odor with light earthy and herbal presence. The feel has the yeast up front followed by dryness and resinous hop texture with mild smooth feel and medium carbonation with dry finish a bit above moderately bitter with light astringency.

The taste is great with tropical and juicy hop flavor with slightly less ripe citrus and mango with hint of yeast in the taste with floral and earthy accents. I thought this was above average based on the full hop flavor and fresh taste unique and drinkable.

S- Hoppy, dank, pineapple, pepper, citrus, tangerine.

T- Bright, juicy fruits, tropical fruits, pineapple, citrus, some spicy rye, peppercorns, dank finish, very well balanced.
