16oz. waxed and capped bottle into Tired Hands stemware. Shared with schen9303.
Pours a rich, thick 1 finger white head that just floats atop the brew. Beer is a clear goldenrod. Lacing is thick, patchy and layered with excellent stick. Perfect. The head is outrageous on this one.
Nose is citrus, lemon, oak, Brett and cane sugar. Aromatic and a little plastic-y but funky and fruity just the same.
Opens intensely tart with big persimmon, citrus, and lemon notes. Oak and funk in the middle with even more fruit pucker. Lemon rind bitterness with a Brett foam funk towards the end. Finishes dry and mellow with a simple, fading fruit presence. Tart aftertaste. This one is very in your face!
Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down puckering, dry and filmy. Messy, puckering and dry finish with an aftertaste that coats the palate. Nice.
Probably the best looking saison that I've ever come across, this also happens to be one of the most sour. Nice character and complexity with a feel that carries out the flavors nicely. Definitely worth seeking out.
