32 oz growler, filled on 7/29, poured into a teku

A- A hazy reddish purple with a two finger light purple head.

S-Tropical fruits, citrus, some blueberries, slightly dank, hints of pine.

T- Some blueberries, citrus, some tropical fruits, finish is piney/dank.

M- Smooth, medium body.

O- After letting my growler sit for a few days in the fridge I feel that I am getting a little more blueberry than when I had a 4 oz draft. The IPA bitterness seems to overwhelm the blueberries a good bit, but it is still a tasty beer.

On tap at TH.

Got off to a good start with a hazy magenta pour, topped with a creamy pink-white cap of head; good retention and lacing. Good aroma of citrusy hops, stinky dankness, leaves, secondary notes of blueberry skins. The taste reflected the aroma, natural blueberry juice was quite present I thought, but took a backseat to the strong hop profile and biscuity malt body. If you go in expecting a full-blown blasting blueberry beer, you'll be disappointed, but if you want a nicely balanced IPA with a delicate berry element, then there's really no problem here. I probably would have preferred a more in-your-face fruit flavor, more like Mago or SuchPassion--which it was unavoidably compared to--but I still enjoyed this one. Light-medium body, crisp and easily drinkable.

On tap @ Tired Hands, served into a pint glass.

A - Pours a really nice shade of purple with two fingers of head.

S - Hmm. Not a lot of blueberry. It smells fine (and quite a bit like some of their other IPAs with similar hop additions) but there's a slight muddling of the hoppy aromas from the blueberries, all while not really getting much blueberry. If that makes sense…

T - Confirmed. Not much blueberry. To be fair, blueberry is a bitch of a flavor to impart into a beer, let alone an IPA that already has such strong flavors from the hops. This is not to say it tastes bad (quite the opposite), it just doesn't taste much like I thought it would. Strength of the fruit on the flavor is like a 3 on a 1-10 scale. It's definitely not MagoTago or SuchPassion from a fruit standpoint.

M - It's a Tired Hands IPA on tap. I don't have much to add to what's already been said about a lot of the other ones.

O - This is a perfectly fine beer, but it's not what I was expecting. I'm not the biggest fan of blueberries to begin with, but I figured I'd give it a shot because I'd never had a blueberry IPA before. I think I know why now. If you're local and think it sounds interesting, go for it…but if you're out of the Philly area, this is probably one you can skip in favor of some of the other awesome stuff that's been hitting the taps lately.

I appreciate the 1 litre share from my brother Tim, thanks! Enjoyed chilled in a glass.

The color is blue as advertised with white head and fine bead with sporadic lace that sticks. The smell is mild blueberry with a lot of mosaic/simcoe type scent which is basically citrus/herbal and a yeast ester that is earthy. The feel is tangy/juicy with mild earthy and bitter texture with slight juicy quality and light yeasty element with gentle astringency and semi-dry finish without any alcohol noticeable.

The taste is pleasant with a nice amount of hop bitterness and yet not much blueberry in the taste, mild citrus from the hops with slight tangy and herbal accent wiht astringent flavor present into the drying and bitter finish. Overall a good IPA, but blueberry is so mild it might as well just be food coloring...I guess there may have been fermentable sugar too. I think this is pretty decent drinkability-wise
