Neo-Biere De Garde. Rye saison delicately spiced with cinnamon and cayenne pepper and fermented with our house saison yeast and then blended with sour ale that underwent extended aging in oak barrels. Almost lager like malt qualities with notes of membrillo, stone fruit, and a kiss of heat on the tongue. Delicate and thought provoking.

On tap. Pours a light, golden yellow with a thin white head. Decent lacing on the glass. Smells of white wine, cinnamon, and pepper. Very interesting flavor profile. Chardonnay, sour lemon, and holiday spice. Quite refreshing and easy to drink. Not getting too much heat. Better than expected. 8/10 for me. White wine, stone fruit, and a saison-like finish.

Poured from a growler into a stemmed glass...
Frothy white head, hazy gold body. It looks lackluster, but that's due to this being a growler pour.
Aroma is filled with notes of vanilla yogurt, tangy melon, oak, maize, and red raspberries. Strange combo, but I like this mix of sweet and savory aromas.
It's balanced, there is some heat towards the finish. Spiced and spicy. This is far from a traditional style, but it works very well.
I'm a huge fan of this beer. It's interesting to drink, and it is refreshing despite the relative heat. If this were categorized as a Chile Beer, I think it could do very well against others, mostly for its drinkable nature.
Side note: first review of mine in well over a year. I feel rusty, but I'm glad to get back into it.
