Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Cloudy and deep yellow, with a small head A lace sheet as I drain the cup. A farmhouse aroma. A good malting, that makes so drinkable this four grain saison. Smooth drinker, a thick mouthfeel. A little rye edge. A good orange hop. Very drinkable.

This beer poured out as a hazy yellow color with a nice looking white head on top. The retention and lacing on this beer was moderate. The smell of the beer was decent, some fresh citrus notes on the nose for the most part. The taste of the beer was lemony upfront with a nice malt backbone and in the finish the hay flavors kind of came out a little. The mouthfeel of this beer was smooth, gently carbonated and easy to drink. Overall it's decent Saison in my opinion.

On-tap, 8oz pour

A light yellow, straw color with a bubbly bone white cap. Some lines of lace.

The aroma is grassy, earthy, and grainy with a burst of lemons. Pepper and candied sugar round out the nose.

Follows the nose. A burst of lemons up front with an earthy graininess and some damp grass. A touch of sugar and pepper in the finish.

Crisp and fairly light. Easy drinking. Moderate carbonation that works well for the style.

A nice saison that is different than most. Multiple grains yield an interesting profile that works extremely well with the delicate, rustic flavors of lemon, spice, and sugar.

The first pour from a growler about 3 days old that has been kept in the frig. The color is a nice mellow straw yellow with some haze. The head is a light fine foam that dissipates to a fine lace.  There is lemon grass, yeast, a little white grape, and black pepper in the nose. The grains come through full on, particularly rye.  The taste more or less follows the aroma, but the funky barnyard yeast is more present.  Pear and fresh cut hay are noticeable and the finish has an earthy quality.  It is dry and quite refreshing with good carbonation and light body. A great saison!

On Tap at Tired Hands.

A- Farmhands has a yellow glow with some tangerine color mixed in. Some white specs of sediment were seen. A 1/2 inch semi loose white head faded into a scattered cap with minimum lacing.

S- This is a sweet smelling saison with fresh orange slices and torn citrus rind. Faint pale malt with some earthy farm flavors. A big floral hop presense fresh off the tap. Some clemintine freshness with big yeast and spices rounding it out.

T- Farmhands delivers with flavor both sweet and hoppy. The flavor starts sweet with fruit such as apple and pear mixed with some malt. With that a big dose of somewhat bitter earthy hops follows. After that some Belgian yeast with spices such as coriander.

M- The spices and yeast really stay with you, the aftertaste is long & somewhat bitter, I like it. The finish is on the dry side and medium bodied with high carb, perhaps a bit much. One of the fuller bodied american saisons I've had recently, it's a treat.

D- The 5.0% is low and not present in the taste at all so this one is a easy one to tackle. While I could down a whole bottle of this, I would rather share it. The freshness off the tap really shows the array of flavors in this, a great treat during the summer.

On tap at the brewpub on 7/25/12. Served in a 4oz taster.

Pour: Completely hazy pale straw yellow with a finger of white bubbly head.

Smell: Belgian spice, biscuity yeast, little bit of lemon.

Taste: Same as the nose, with the biscuit and yeast really being quite powerful. Lemon zest is really the only fruit flavor I take out of this one.

Mouthfeel: Really, really light. Almost watery. Great carbonation though, and very refreshing.

Overall: Good, but not their best offering in my opinion. Still, a textbook saison, and I'l definitely be getting it again.

On tap at the brewery, beer is light yellow, mostly clear with a white head of small bubbles, some lacing, moderate to low carbonation, decent retention.

Aroma is earthy, hops, some grass, citrus and lemon. Nice.

Light in body very refreshing, a nice little beer here. Easy drinking, nice flavors on the palate, definitely a repeat for me. Not too dry not watery, mild citrus in the midpalate, flowers and earth in the late mid to finish. Really enjoyable.

Served on-tap at the brewery.

A - Pours pale yellow with a nice one finger tall white head leaving spotty streaks of lace down parts of the glass.

S - Smells of must - not overly funky - light fruity notes, dulled citrus, some candied sugar, some peppery spice and a good bit of bready wheat / grain. Nothing over the top here, just a solid saison nose.

T - The flavors closely follow the nose. Starts off with a mix of musty funk and chewy grains quickly giving way to hints of apples, pears and light citric fruit. A nice spice note comes through toward the end of each sip, making me want to come back for more.

M - Nice light flavors with a crisp feel. Some graininess toward the end of each sip but thats about it. Quite refreshing on these hot days we have been having.

O - This is a great classic saison. Unlike others, there is no need to add things to distract from the base when the base is this good. I can tell that this is going to be one of my go to beers at the brewery.

Hazy golden straw, cap of prickly bubbles. Scent brings good amounts of fresh grain, dried hay, musty hay, and watery fruit, kiss of grassy and lemony hops, nice peppery spice. Solid flavor all around, fresh grain, dried grain and musty grain, earthy funkyness, solid spice, good lemony and fruity component. Medium bodied, bubbly, dry. Fantastic saison which balances the multiple components with a solid, earthy, farmhouse musty funk.
