Growler courtesy of drabmuh. Served in Tired Hands stemware. Pours a fairly-dark brown with a light tan head. Sticky lacing. Delicious. Touch of chocolate and roast with nice citrus notes. Dry and fairly bitter. Grows on me as I drink more, though I still prefer the nose.

On-tap, 8oz pour
A dark brown body with a light khaki cap that clings to the sides of the glass sporadically.
Aroma of bright citra hops and roasted malt. Juicy papaya, mango, pineapple, and white grapefruit burst into the air with a pleasant roast lying underneath.
The flavor profile follows the nose. Juicy tropical fruit lends a bit of a sweet characteristic before bitter roast and hop bitterness take over in the finish.
Medium body with perfect carbonation.
This is a damn fine black IPA. Strong hop profile with just the right touch of roast. Well made.

On Tap at Tired Hands.
Killgore looks the part with a black appearance with some brown edges up to the light. A darker tan shaded foam on the top that looks dense, leaving clings here and there. I don't get the whole black ale thing, I think the outcome negates each styles purpose, with hoppy and roasty dancing around. Either way, the scent on this is killer and the citra hops used are not drowned out by all the dark malt. I can sniff the citra a mile away. Under that some roast with grain and malt. Taste is hoppy going into a roasty finish as with all black ales. The difference with this, is that it is super fresh and 100% citra hopped, bang. Feel is at about medium with carb and a bit of a bitterness drowned out by the malt. All in all good for a go, nice clean, fresh, local, small batch beer. I don't think I will go for it again, but that's because im not a dark beer guy.

Growler shared by Paul. Thanks. Served in a Tired Hands stemmed glassware, again thanks Paul. Beer is dark brown to black with a slightly off white head of small and some lacing.
Aroma is mildly roasty with a mild hoppiness.
The beer has a thin to medium body and a dry finish. Nice bitterness and a nice finish. The hop palate is a little thin but the Citra and the roast play together well. Of course I'd have this again.
