Thanks to yourefragile for the growler. Served in Tired Hands stemware. Pours a moderate caramel color, but is thankfully not very malty. Nose has strong pine, resin, and citrus peel in the nose. Flavor is more bitterness. Good citrus. Quite heavy there. Super dry. Very nice DIPA.

This was probably the most aggressively hopped beer I’ve had yet at Tired Hands, but it still remained drinkable and not excessively palate-lashing. Pours a somewhat murky, dark orange color with a finger of slowly settling head and good lacing.

Vivid aroma of grapefruit, pine and resins continues in the tasting. Assertively bitter, with little in the way of detectable sweetness or malt. Very West Coast in style, more along the lines of what someone like Stone might do than the more typically beautifully hopped but subtle Tired Hands beers. Less intricate detail and more in your face bitterness and resinous character, which is exactly what they were going for here, according to Jean. Will definitely satisfy the hophead contingent. Finishes dry with a long and lingering bitter aftertaste and a citrusy grapefruit rind note.

Medium bodied with smooth carbonation; great mouthfeel and drinkability in keeping with all the Tired Hands beers. Booze isn’t particularly noticeable, perhaps just peeking out in the finish, and when you get up from your bar stool and walk away.

On Tap at the brew cafe.

Hop-A-Tact glides into the 16oz glass a penny bronze color with some darker gold colors as well. A nice amount an inch or so of cream/white colored foam up top, with retention and gliding stick on the glass. Smell is wet coast like, big citrus rind scents with the grapefruit on the big side. Guessing some Amarillo was used in here, some underlining pine. Bang, taste is big on citrus with some earthy tones in the middle finished out by some pale malts. As in the scent, grapefruit comes through with other citrus and pine. Feel is medium bodied with some spritzy carb. While a pint was great, I did not feel the need for another, for now.
