First had: on tap at Tired Hands

Hazy, golden-straw pour, with a white foamy head that sank to a wispy layer, streaking the glass with lacing. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, mild grassy funk. More of the same in the taste, light grassy funk complimented by citrus zest, floral hops, a touch of spice, and a solid pale malt base. Light body, crisp, flavorful, and appropriately carbonated. Nicely done. Not my favorite of the single hop series, but nicely done overall.

On tap at Tired Hands on 12/18/12, served in a tulip. Also enjoyed from a 1L fliptop growler later on the same evening, with similar attributes.

Pour: Hazy, very light yellow body, with a finger and a half of white, soapy head. Head leaves some really great lacing and sticks around for a while.

Smell: Big citrus up front, followed by a very pronounced yeast and white pepper. Some bready/biscuit dough comes through as well.

Taste: Follows the nose with a big lemon pith and grapefruit profile. A light clean tartness. White pepper and spicy farmhouse yeast really shine through the middle of the palate. Slight bitterness and a light, light funk on the finish. Great!

Mouthfeel: Insanely drinkable. Literally could and would all day long. Nice prickly carb, and a certain juiciness hidden in the taste. Finishes nice and dry.

Overall: The best Tired Hands beer I've had yet? I think FlavorAroma still takes that prize, but this beer is beautiful. Great job Jean and company!

Pours a slightly hazy deep straw color with a smallish off white head that quickly recedes to a cap. Smells of lemon and citrus with bits of pepper and yeasty funk. The flavor is heavy on the citrus with again a bit of pepper and light yeast. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. This is a really nice light flavorful easy drinking saison, I quite enjoyed it.

Served on-tap at the Brewpub. Reviewed from notes.

A - Pours Slightly hazy golden yellow, one finger soapy white head.

S - Smells of mild barnyard funk, a moderate amount of citric hops, pine needles, lemon zest and some light peppery spice.

T - Starts off with a bit of funk and bready saison yeast quickly giving way to the hops, some lemon, pine resin and a bit of spice. All the flavors you would expect with only the hops really standing out.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Light, slightly hoppy feel with a bit of chewiness at the end of each sip.

O - A decent enough single hop saison. Nothing over the top but still everything you would expect. I really like these single hop saisons so far.

Poured from growler into taster - thanks brad

Pour a hazy, clouded golden straw yellow color with a fluff of bubbly head resting on top. Nice retention, sticky lacing littered across the glass while drinking.

Plenty of citrus scents with grapefruit and orange peel. Spicy farmhouse yeasty funk with straw, biscuit and toasted grains. Light peppery hops.

Crisp citrusy hoppiness with peppery spice and citrus peel. Orange and grapefruit juciness, followed by the familiar TH funky saison yeast. Dry and lightly fruity with a biscuity malt backbone.

Lighter medium body, milder carbonation (due to the growler fill I'm sure), dry and crisp on the tongue. This has a nice balance of citrus, hops, funk and pepper, although I couldn't help but feel like this suffered a bit from the puzzling inaccuracies caused by growler fills at TH. I think the Simcoe singel hop is still my favorite out of the 3 they've done so far.

Every beer I drink with these Motueka hops ends up tasting and smelling exactly the same, I even made a homebrewed Abbey Ale with these hops and it ended up nearly identical to this beer. I enjoy it but it is not my favorite hop variety. Growlers shared by yourefragile, 4 days old. Beer is served in a TIred Hands stemmed glass.

Beer is yellow and hazy with a thin wispy head of small white bubbles, some lacing, some retention, looks like a saison.

Aroma is mildly fruity, mildly earthy a little floral, smells like Motueka.

Beer is light in body, mildly bitter on the finish, an interesting beer overall but a little one note. THe hops are nice in a saison providing a mild bitterness and a mild floral character that goes well with the esters from the yeast. I'd have it again for sure.
