Growler into a DFH off-centered pint glass. Many thanks to Holland for the trade!
The Light that Spills from the growler into my glass, filling it with a clearish, goldenrod-hay color. Slight haze on successive pours. The lacing is spectacular, with clumpy webs of off-white fluff clinging to the sides of the pint. The nose is equally impressive. Fresh clementine zest and citrus flesh leap out of the glass. Citrus is pushed to the maximum level, yet the overall aroma is that of a very clean pale ale. A touch of pine and dry cracker maltiness in the background. Very happy with this beer so far.
The flavor continues the citrus theme, bringing fresh tangerine juice and orange peel to every inch of the palate. Thankfully the bitterness is all hops and no citrus rind. Mouthfeel is crisp and dry, but juicy at the same time. The Light is an exercise in balance, and highly reminiscent of the excellent pale ales produced by a noteworthy brewery up in Vermont. Highly drinkable, as my growler disappeared entirely too quickly. Nice job, Tired Hands!
