on tap at the brewpub

Hazed out golden orange pour, tapped with a cap of creamy white head. Floral and herbal in the nose with brett and soft yeasty funk. Starts off with similar floral and herbal tones alongside a hint of mint. Bretty funk, wet hay, peppercorns, lemon peel/zest invigorate the tongue. Hoppy on the back end with citrus fruit. Creamy and bubbly on the tongue.

I've enjoyed this Darwin solera series, so I'll be sad to see these go. Most have been an interesting hybrid of saison/belgian pale/apa/etc, allowing this to be a pretty expressive, unique set of brews.

From 07/13/13 notes. Had on tap at the brewery in Ardmore, PA.

a - Pours a hazy, pale yellow color with one inch of white bright head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of brett, citrus hops, yeast, spices, oranges, grass, earthy notes, light fruity malts, lemon, and light funk in the nose. Really like the nose; brett is up front and great.

t - Tastes of brett, oranges, citrus hops, yeast, spice, grains, bready malts, floral hops, grass, earthy notes, and hay. No funk like the nose, but a lot of brett and citrus hops again. Very nice.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty nice and easy to drink.

o - Overall a great brett saison. Tons of citrus hops, oranges, and brett throughout, and very pleasant and esy to drink. Once of my favorites of the day there, would love to have again.

32 oz growler filled 7/7/13, opened the next day and poured into a tulip glass.

A- Pours a dark golden color with a thin white head, leaves a small amount of spotty lacing.

S- Lots of earthy, fruity brett aromas, centennial is definitely present, but the brett is what really jumps out at you here.

T- Mild tartness with a lot of brett flavors, some fruit and hay, along with grass an citrus from the hops, which become moderately bitter towards the finish.

M- Medium-bodied, smooth and dry feel.

O- Another very good IPA from Tired Hands, and it manages to merge the flavors of brett and hops really nicely, although this is more of a wild ale / Saison kinda thing than what you'd expect from an IPA.

Thanks to tenderbranson69 for bringing this growler to my son Isaac's 3rd birthday party - enjoyed chilled in a snifter.

The color is a lightly hazed amber with thin cream cap with very fine bead. The lace sticks in a film. The smell is lightly funky with brett aroma and slightly piney hop aroma and light floral accent. The feel is very tangy and slightly acidic with moderately high carbonation and very dry bitter finish with mild alcohol and spice.

The taste is pretty tangy with wild yeast fruitiness and slight citrus flavor with american hop influence and nice Brett cohesion with a mild barnyard funk element with horseblanket type dry and slight herbal aspect with an orange tea-like taste with some light woody elements with nice bitter flavor from the hops and and mild malt sweetness and citrus acidity in the finish. The overall impression is a nice juxtopostion of hops and brettt - I like the constrast that some may feel is a disjointed taste - but to me it achieves the goal of adding complexity to a nice hoppy ale with some brett influence
