Adding this seperate listing for the bottled version of Cassie that has brett. Only 60 bottles were sold.
Big thanks to Kegatron for sharing this with me at a recent tasting. 500ml bottle poured into a matching TH glass. The brew appears a hazed golden color with a slight off-white cap. Some spotty lace sticks to the glass when the brew is swirled.
The aroma is very tropical with a little bit of briney tang. A swirl releases some cheesy funky odor along with sulfur, wheaty grain and vinegar. The tropical aspect is super enjoyable and if that comes exclusively from the usage of Motueka hops...color me impressed.
The taste has plenty of wheat and a clean tartness before giving way to tropical flavors that are mildly grassy and herbal with hops. The bitterness of the hops breaks up the topical feel to this that returns towards the finish with more of a vinous note.
This is a medium to lighter bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is crisp, fairly clean and very easy drinking. Well, actually this is quite a poundable brew, I could and would drink this continously if given the chance. I dont know if that tropicsl feel came from the Motueka hops, the brett or a combination of each but it was pretty good. I be interested to see how this ages...if the hops fade and brett takes over it could no doubt become a completely different brew from what it is like now.
