Appearance: A normal pour produced 1'' of tan colored head. The beer is black and opaque. Lacing was tan and absolutely perfect. Beautiful color, considering the tropical smell (spoiler alert) of this beer.
Smell: Smell is of sour biscuit malts, pine, pineapple, and orange.
Taste: Taste is of bitter pine, pineapple, and then ... CHOCOLATE. Beautiful dark baking chocolate. How is this working so well? Flavor duration is average to long, sweetness is light, and bitterness is moderate (from the chocolate).
Mouthfeel: Body is light, texture is thin, slick, and oily. Carbonation is average, and the finish is bittersweet.
Overall: Extremely cool twist with the chocolate. Great and unique brew. Rockin!

One of four Tired Hands growlers shared by Darrell last night. Cheers to you, sir!
The beer is dark brown, nearing black, with a quarter inch of head. the aroma offers some chocolate, roast, hops, pine. Decent flavor, though I must admit I much prefer the standard IPA style to the black version. Well balanced with a light bitterness in the finish. Lingering pine. A solid beer, but easily surpassed by all three of the other growlers we had that night. Worth a try, especially if you dig beers of this ilk.
