First had: on tap at TH

Collaboration with Jackie O's.

Murky golden-orange liquid, opaque, with a nice finger of frothy white head that receded a bit, but retained thickly, leaving chunks of lacing on the glass. Yes, as I overheard someone in line during a recent bottle release say: "I just wish they'd filter their IPAs." Indeed. Incredible showcasing of Motueka and Centennial hops, with a nice, fresh, citrusy aroma, clean and juicy, notes of pine and orange blossom. More hoppy, bursting goodness in the taste: lemon, orange, pineapple, peach, grass, honeysuckle, lightly toasted wheat in the background. Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft and fresh mouthfeel. Really hard to find anything at all wrong with this one. Except that damn cloudy unfiltered haze, which is TOTALLY inappropriate for a beer!

This beer is a clear medium-dark gold, bright and vibrant-looking with steady carbonation easing its way to the top through the session. The head is clean and white, soft and fluffy but strong. It rests at a just less than a finger that distributes even and conservative patching.
This is a nicely hopped pale ale that maintains a cleanness and balance very well. It's got a bit of pine up front with plenty of grass and fresh green leaf, almost but not quite herbal. It balances with and complements a crackery malt. Underneath is maybe a hint of citrus zest. In the flavor, the finish brings out a woodier/stemmier sort of pith in the finish after it's taken some time to warm.
The light to medium body maintains a firmly crisp bite while staying quite smooth all the way through.

Must have been sitting next to Rifugium while sipping this...
Poured from tap into their stemmed flute. Suuper murky orangey straw, white head.
Big citrusy pineapple kiwi and slight pine hop aroma. Juicy thick hop flavor, wheat, some nice balance of malts. Superb APA. So smooth and just quenching. Go have one before its gone.
Also...so so glad this was as murky as it was. There is little I love more than a murky beer! Filtered beer is for suckers.

32oz growler poured into a Russian River stemmed glass.

A - Cloudy and dirty in appearance...quite yeasty looking and almost fruit juice like. Grapefruity golden color with a small white head that falls to leave a foamy collar on the edges of the glass.

S - Soft aroma...a bit buttery, light hops, dry malt - grainy and biscuit. Mild bitterness.

T - Light phenolic...grassy bitterness. Mild diacetyl, mid-level bitterness, biscuit. Light citrus - lemons especially.

M - Light to medium in body...lightly tingly carbonation. Biscuity and dry, medium hoppiness.

O - Not bad...rather mild flavors, balanced, soft. Hoppy bitterness and malty smoothness. Two for two with Tired Hands detecting noticeable phenolic qualities - one in a saison and one in this pale ale...both a bit out of character for style, especially here. Had high hopes for this and found myself rather unimpressed with this. Drinkable for sure, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get this one again.

Came to me a cloudy golden straw with a touch of burnished orange. The head was small and white and left minimal lacing.
Very hoppy in the aroma but, sutle. I can smell citrus and lemon lime which must be the moteuka.
Taste is refreshing and good. I can definitly taste lemon verbena but that could be suggestive since I read it off the menu. The malt balances nicely and is quite refined.
The body is thin and the flavor could use a boost other then that I have no problems with this brew.
