Pours a dark, deep yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly grainy. Flavor was a touch too sweet in the get go but as it warmed up the graininess seemed to come out and cut the sweetness, which was welcome. A crisp, active, somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a decent beer. Mabye a touch too sweet for me overall, but still enjoyable.

Poured a cloudy yellow, with a thin ring of white lacing. It looks okay, but not quite as bright and clear as a kolsch usually does. Nose has fruity aromas and hints of dry grain. It's okay, it doesn't repel you that's for certain. Taste begins with grain husk and goes into German hops and some wheat cracker. The finish is dry. It's crisp and clean, without a great deal of complexity. It's pretty good for a kolsch. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation. It's pleasant, making the beer easy to drink. Overall it's a nice kolsch, similar to most other examples of the style I've tasted. Not bad.

Live review at our campground in Colorado Springs, CO. Random grab at Haugh's in Flagstaff, AZ.

A- Poured from the 12oz bottle comes a pale golden bodied brew with just a bit of haze. White fluffy foam crowns the beer to about half a finger with decent retention. A medium ring remains leaving spotty lace around the glass.

S- Light cereal grain and sweetness comes from the malts with just a bit of cracked grain aroma as well. Pale fruits mostly like apple come to mind but not much else, it is a Kolsch after all.

T- This Kolsch rides a balance between a few main flavors for me. It is not exactly mild but simplicity describes it. Light fruit esters like apple and slight unripe pear are the emphasis paired with cereal grain malts and spicy hops. Yeast bread also comes to mind.

MF- Light-medium bodied with a substantial foamy slightly creamy texture that holds the beer together. Carbonation is fairly high but works out with the flavors at hand.

For me the main theme is apple and pear light fruit esters paired with cereal grain malts. There is nothing in your face about it but that is Kolsch for you I suppose. Perhaps a bit too much from the yeast but I think overall it is nice.

Quite a yellow color, not the usual golden to amber shades. An average head that dissipates before long, but attractive enough for awhile. Pleasantly carbonated in the mouth. A little slicker than others in this style. Not much aroma.

A dirty, scratchy sort of flavor. Whatever these hops are, they don't give any sense of the Kölsch perfumey hoppiness. A slight biterness. This isn't a really bad beer, but for the Kölsch category it's wildly overshadowed by so many vastly better examples. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Whole Foods in Chandler.

Slowly center poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. No bottle date.

Very clear, golden color with a puffy, creamy 1 1/4" white head. Leaves nice strings of lacing.

Nice fruity and grainy aroma, with some tangerine and pineapple notes.

The taste comes on with peach pit and spicy pineapple, a little sweet grain/honey kind of taste and some grassiness. Ends fairly clean with a little lingering sweetness.

Medium bodied but smooth. Could stand some more carbonation, ends a little sticky. I think this bottle may be a bit old so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt here.

Good looking beer with some interesting American hop influence. Not traditional, but not bad. I'll try to get a fresher bottle and give this another try, but without bottle dates who can say.
