Chilled 16 oz can into a 12 oz stemless tulip. No visible canning date.

Look- Clear medium amber, darker than anticipated. Three solid fingers of off-white froth, good retention. Well developed spiderweb lacing.

Smell- Toasty, light honey, lemon. Mild but pleasant.

Taste- Cracker, lemon and pine, white tea bittering on the back end that grows as I sip. Just a little something tart that suggests a saison-ish yeast strain, maybe fermented cool? Don't know, but the lemon rind stands out and there's just a little snap to it. Very nice.

Mouthfeel- Medium for the style, smooth, soft carbonation. Dry finish, feels like hard water, but just on the level that invites another drink.

Overall- A mild, dry, and clean-hopped APA. Aggressive bittering builds as you drink but it's clean and not a ton of fruity or skunky flavor. Really fits what I'd say a Texas Pale Ale should be. Very nice, and I'm glad to see a more reasonably-priced beer from South Austin brewing as well. at $12 for a six pack of 16 oz cans, this is priced on par with Shiner at $8 for six and it's pretty darn good. Their packaging gimmick (a guitar pick under one of the snap-off can rings in the holder) is... gimmicky, but hey, I kind of like it, and it seems like they're really going for the whole Austin music thing, which works. It's not a big beer, but it more than hits the spot. I'll be getting this one again.
