A- pours a fizzy yellow with A good amount of rocky head, the only saving grace of the appearance.

S- very watery sweetness from malt, no hops, some bread.

T- a slightly sweet, very bland, very dry beer with a hint of corn and grain.

O- just not my cup of tea, if I want an adjunct lager I'll reach for something cheaper.

They say this is brewed in Canada, not Japan. They also say that this is not the only Japanese beer brewed in the Great White North.

Do we hold this against Sapporo, or any other Nipponese doppelgänger brew? No! A great flippin' pop, whoever is doing the brewing. Crisp, clean, quite jacked up. War Sapporo!

Finally got around to reviewing one of these. Used to be a staple in Amherst whenever Daisuke pitched. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear straw yellow with a one finger head thanks to a hard pour that faded to leave a thin white halo and a nice cloud.

S - Smell is average, lots of sweet malts and grain. None of the corn that comes with American adjunct lagers thanks to the rice. A nice rice aroma too but its fleeting.

T - Tastes of more of the sweet malts with an almost german spice/pilsner quality to it. There is a slight earthyness with some faint rice and a nice dry finish.

M - Mouthfeel is slightly thin, which I suppose it to be expected. Dry finish, very easy to drink.

O - Overall this is pretty good, definately what I go to when I want a Japanese beer thats inexpensive. An easy way to spend $9.99/6 pack.

650mL can (batch J2211G 2200FL) poured into a pilsner glass.

Appearance: Crystal clear straw to light gold color. 1/8" white foam upon pouring mostly died back to a thin ring. Lacing is only a tiny island every now and then, which after awhile, slides back down and disappears.

Smell: Not a lot - grainy, mildly earthy. With a good swirl I can actually smell some fresh cooked rice, but once the head dies back, this is gone.

Taste: Crisp, earthy and grainy with a hint of apple and some additional sweetness thrown in. Hop presence maybe there at the end with the most mild of bitterness and German-type spiciness/floral tastes, but it's barely there. Definite dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean, borderline fizzy, but not bad.

Overall / Drinkability: Neat looking can, but otherwise nothing special. Quite drinkable though. Unoffensive, not strong in flavor, but washes food down well and cleanses the palate each time.
