Unknown vintage; drank 5/1/16 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque brown/purple appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small khaki head; decent lace.
Caramel, toffee & faint citrus notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Caramel & toffee flavors up front; faint hop bite on the finish.
A bit cloying but drinkable; scotch ale vibes.

Pours a clear dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, roasted nut, and metallic aromas. Taste is much the same with burnt toast, roasted nut, caramel, and metallic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that I think would have some potential if it weren't for the metallic qualities I am getting.

Pours a dark brown color with a white head that provides some lace. Mildly toasted aroma with freshly kilned malt being the most discernible.
Toasted malt notes in the taste with some nuttiness too. Just a suggestion of plum or raisin before the slight bitterness and malts take over in the abrupt finish. Would not surprise me if this is a malt only brew. Broadly in the dark mild ale style. Overall, a nice little beer, and the best I've had from this brewery.
