Pours a golden straw color with a decent white head that sinks quickly and lots of yeasties floating around as I didn't know the beer was bottle conditioned when I was pouring it. Slightly sweet malt smell with a husky grain quality to it. The beer has a very dry and grainy start to it that makes it rather refreshing and quenching. The brew retains this excellent dryness until a short and sweet malt burst at the end comes through. It is then back to the dryness for the slight lingering finish however. The graininess provides a very dry and crisp mouthfeel which makes the brew very refreshing and very drinkable. I can imagine that this would go excellent with sushi and other japanese foods.

The other day I went to a Yebisu bar and grill in Kyoto Japan and got to try this beer in a 20z mug.
Look: golden clear with little to no haziness.
Smell: nothing special, faint floral and grapes notes, with rice undertones.
Taste: has a grainy taste at most, the rice is there but it’s faint at best.
Feel: little to no harshness, felt nice and refreshing to drink.
Overall: it’s really interesting how people have such a wide opinion about this beer in regards to what it actually taste like. My opinion is that it’s a good beer, not great but good enough to drink when paired with foods. I drank mine at a Yebisu bar which while way over priced (900 yen for a 20oz) still wasn’t bad.

From a can packaged 2023.09. Clear golden color with white foamy head. Light grain aroma with some grassy notes. Light body. Light grain flavor with a floral finish. Decent, but kind of a one note beer.

We’re just about done with the beers that Snaotheus sent me in his LIF box, there’s only one left after this beer in fact. I guess this is the “premium” version of OG Sapporo, though I’m not sure why that makes it a Dortmunder. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a clear light yellow with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
Things are going surprisingly well for this one so far, it looks great and the nose actually has some depth to it. I’m picking up on aromas of crackery malt, wildflower honey, pear skin, peppery hops, white grape, toasted grain, and light grass
It definitely takes a turn for the worse in taste, I don’t hate it by any means but it’s just a but bland. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting crackery malt, grassy hops, white pepper, lemon zest, and sweet honey. The swallow brings notes of crackery malt, cereal grain, orange zest, grassy hops, white pepper, and light pear skin
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes neutral with a firm bitterness
This one is a bit odd but I dig it. I’d drink this in place of OG Sapporo if it were available at sushi restaurants where I’d typically be drinking something like this

Purchased at Fairprice Extra in Singapore in October 2023 and drunk by the pool a few days later.
L: Window-clear darkish golden yellow. Thin white head. Large, slow-moving bubbles.
S: Grapes, yeast, flowers and wet hay.
T: Surprisingly harsh citric bitterness right up front, with big floral hop notes. Sweet, almost yeasty malt base. Finishes with dry citric bitterness that lingers long (I know that makes little sense). It's really quite nice.
M: Low to moderate carbonation, but carbonic prickle is much higher, which does well to balance the bitterness and sweetness.
O: I was not expecting much from this but was presently surprised. The bitterness took surprised me and made me want to drink more after each sip, and that's exactly what I want a beer to do.
Cheers!

Look - poured into a standard 12 oz glass. golden in color, clear, with a huge frothy head that mostly dissipates, leaving behind moderate lacing.
Smell - lots of malts with some sweetness, with light but noticable hop presence.
Taste - strong malty flavor with considerable hoppy balance, though not excessive in bitterness. malt flavor lingers, but finish is very clean.
Feel - light bodied, though leaning towards the medium side. above average carbonation. easy drinking and relatively low in alcohol at 5%
Overall - this is a more flavorful Sapporo brewed with 100% malts. a nice clean beer that resembles a moderately hoppy Euro lager.

I'm so used to Yebisu as Japanese,So it's hard for me describe how it tastes.
This is the only Japanese beer other than craft beer I can recommend.
You cannot go wrong with Yebisu.

Pours with a bright, light golden hue. Virtually no head formation, however, clear Belgian lace formation. The lack of head formation may be due to the available glassware. The nose suggests bright, light malts with some clear, yet reticent, hop notes. Every sip calls for a repeat sip. Medium body. Nice malty notes and a pleasant lingering. The Yebisu has clear Pils characteristics in the export form! Evident hop bitterness, but restrained considering current hop-head-pleasing expectations tendencies, with rich malt notes. The Export is still balanced with a forthright and clean malt profile. I would be pleased to return to this Dortmunder Export given the opportunity. It is delicious and made consistent with style!
