22 oz can poured into a pilsner glass.
82511G on the bottom, no info.

A - The sexy-looking can releases pale straw yellow beer with moderate carbonation and brilliant clarity. The white head fades quickly with but a few fingers of lace creeping up the glass.

S - Just the simple crispness of the aroma is inviting. Not off-putting in the least but certainly open and airy, dry dusty straw, pale malt, and, of course, rice completes the aroma.

T - Sweetness stems from pale and pils malt in the taste that's accented by straw and rice. Much less dusty than the nose foreshadowed.

M - Crisp, clean, and most importantly, refreshing, Sapporo is light-bodied and biting with carbonation but smooth regardless.

O - Predominant rice additions don't hinder this defect-free beer for me. For the style, it's delicious and damn if it isn't refreshing after a long day at work. Thank you sir, may I have another?

Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Clear golden ale with a thick, white, frothy, two-finger head that quickly dissipates in to a thin lace leaving a nice trail all the way down the glass.

S: Clean aroma with good grain and flora hop background.

T: Sweet lager throughout with hints of rice and a dry finish. You can taste some hops and a little malt. Very crisp and refreshing.

M: Thin body and medium carbonation

O: Interesting Japanese Rice Lager – one of the few that I’ve had. It was a nice beer on a hot summer day, but nothing I would grab again.

Beer served in a shaker pint, beer is yellow clear with a big white head of small and medium bubbles, some lacing, moderate to high carbonation.

Aroma is sweet, nothing else.

Beer is medium to light in body and sweet throughout, The finish is mildly dry and not too bad. All of these Sapporo beers are identical IMO. Just different cans.

Pours a fizzy yellow hue. Typical adjunct lager look. Mild carbonation and a one finger head. Smeels of corn syrup and rice. Taste is similir, cornsryup with just a touch of rice at the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied. Overall a decent beer for a party.

A: Pale golden color with a huge and wispy white head that turns pretty cobwebby as it goes down.

S: Light citrus aroma, grain, horse blanket and fritos. Not exactly appetizing.

T: It's actually not that bad. There isn't a lot of flavor here, but it's crisp and clean and doesn't get incredibly undrinkable as it warms. One of the better lagers in mass production. Light citrus and pale malts along with the slightest bit of grassy hops.

Pours a nice one finger head, it's really frothy and it looks like it's giving me good lacing. It's diminished substantially since I poured it, but it's still leaving a good layer on the top of the body. The body is piss yellow and completely see through, it looks like a standard macro lager, accept for the decent lacing. Overall not a very good look, but the lacing is nice. There is some crisp hop on the nose, along with a sweet and sour malty smell. Smells like a lager, but one tiny step above the rest because I can get some hops on the nose. Overall the smell is very faint, but it smells decent when I can smell it. Yeah, there is for sure a nice hop character in this beer, when you compare it to a budwieser or some macro beer like that. It's a pretty small hop flavor, but that's really ok, because it's a lager. Overall the flavor is pretty simple, there is for sure a malt flavor, and on some sips you pick up significant alcohol, considering it's only 5%. You can tell the beer is made with rice, but really it doesn't bother me because it's not like they are trying to cut cost, that's just the style, where as when it's used in an american macro, they are trying to cut cost, and it doesn't work with the beer. Mouthfeel is decent, pretty thin and a little watery, but the carbonation is just perfect. The drinkability is pretty damn nice too, there really isn't anything wrong with this beer, so it's not hard to drink, and it's pretty light. Overall, I good lager, and since it's mass produced, a very good macro lager. Not an amazing beer, but one I wouldn't mind having, especially over a normal macro lager.

22oz. can poured into a nonic.

(A)- Pours a clear yellow color. Produced a nice fluffy white head. Decent retention and lace.

(S)- Very dry. Mild light malt. Can smell the rice from a mile away.

(T)- Similar to the smell. Dry and mild with subtle sweet rice aspects.

(M)- A crisp carbonation level. Very thin and mild almost to the point of flavorless. Some bitterness does keep it interesting somewhat.

(D)- It fits its style easy enough, but not much really going on with this at all.

appearance; crystal clear light yellow. Pale white head with good retention and chunky lacing.

smell; rather ordinary. Mild cereal grains and flower pollen hops. A little sweetness, mirin comes to mind but that just might be me associating this beer with rice.

taste; slightest bit of sweet rice upfront but finishes with a strong grainy malt flavor. The hops are quite pleasant, reminding me of Trix™ cereal, as it blends fruits(mostly citrus) nicely with the malts. The slightest bit of alcohol blends with rice flavors, as one taste past the initial grain flavors.

mouthfeel/drinkability; a bit more substance than one would expect for such a light colored beer. Almost creamy but some fizzy qualities thin it out a bit. Quite crisp and refreshing. Really not that good in my opinion but not bad either. I would definitely buy again if I was having some sushi, would make a nice pairing.

Pours a nice light lager color.

Smell is typical of what you would expect to find with a German pilsner, although this one is obviously coming from Japan.

Rather crisp taste and refreshing finish. Very surprising.

Easy drinking beer makes this good for summer. Of course it's a staple at many sushi restaurants as well.

Poured into a pilsner glass.

Pours a clear light straw yellow. Has a white fluffy head that settles to a lace island. Spattering a bit of lace as the brew goes down. OK looks for the style.

Brew smells of rice, grains... not much else. Underwhelming smell, but probably smells like it is supposed too. Average.

Brew is very light and carbonated; rice, grains. No hops to speak of. Rice and grains are the dominate flavors. Has a sweetness to it as well. Very light and refreshing. The brew goes down easy and leaves not aftertaste. This brew could be used in beer pong or a game of a$$hole for sure. Average tastes - not offensive at all.

The brew is really light and easy drinking, not something I would seek out; this style brew to me is boring. But honestly, I would rather have this then an american macro brew.

A - straw yellow, little carbonation, head disappears rather quickly, and almost no lacing.

S - very mild smell, slight rice and grain.

T - light, sweet, grain

M - very dry little hop, less than med feel.

D - I tried it and now know I don't like it.

Had two bottles with sushi poured into a wine goblet type glass.

Pale yellow and clear with little head or lacing. A few rising bubbles.

Smelled grainy and slightly hoppy, not strongly so.

Tastes very average. A touch of rice over some grain and hops.

Felt good for the style, dry and mildly carbonated.

For a sushi pairing, this beer is fine. By itself I wouldn't buy it, but I'll give it an average rating.

A - Pours a straw yellow color with mild carbonation and minimal head.

S - Light malt grain and extremely light hop aroma. The overall smell is very, very mild.

T - Light sweet malt, mild traces of fruit, and lots of graininess.

M - Grainy, moderate carbonation on the tongue, very crisp, and very dry. Hop bitterness lingers for a minute or so after the fact.

D - Marginal.

I would call this a very good candidate for the beer geek's lawn mower beer. Deserves to be quaffed at a very cold temperature. By itself, I would not enjoy this beer, however, I had it with a big plate of sushi and it was a perfect match.

22 oz. bomber-sized can, says made in Canada,

A: Pours a pale yellow, with a soapy white head, spotty lacing.

S: Nice grassy noble hop aroma with hints of husky grain.

T: Malt and rice, very light flavor. Budweiser-esque with a little more hop character.

M: Light, fizzy, thin finish.

D: A fair lighter lager, lighter than regular Sapporo or Reserve, basically Budweiser with a Japanese label.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation.

D - Not bad, definitely a decent session beer but I would not drink it again.

This beer is a mystery! But finally I got the urge to get this at my job, and take it home. Awesome beer! Nice gold color, sweet malt, foamy white head, decent lacing, floral or buttery taste that lingers, kind of waxy after taste, and very drinkable. This beer is one of the few that I have encountered better out of a can!

Pours a nice golden color and has a slight cider smell to it. Tastes grainy with some hops a light apple juice like finish. A nice feel across the palate crisp and refreshing just the right amount of carbonation a very drinkable beer. Overall i could drink more of this beer but could be expensive since i can only find the 22's.

22 Ounce Silver can

Appearance: Golden yellow color with decent head and nice lacing.

Smell: Faint smell of grains but not very strong

Taste: Crisp with a good amount of carbonation. There is a good bitterness to it but not overwhelming and the taste remains for a while.

Comment: This beer is refreshing and light with a good mouthfeel and drinkability. A good beer, plus the can is pretty unique.

Pours a light clear gold with a small head that doesn't retain too well.

The smell is underwhelming. Hints of rice and hops.

The taste is fairly good. Rice again. Not very much hops. The grains come through though. A little more crisp and dry than other Japanese lagers.

Mouthfeel has a light zing from the carbonation. Thin, but not water thin.

A pretty good beer for the style anyway. Easy to throw back a couple with some sushi or tenpura. Not going to blow anyone away though.

A- Very clear light yellow color with a decent white head with ok retention. Some lacing.

S- Smells of rice and a little bit of hops

T- Tastes a mixture of ricey metallic with little complexity. Nothing special.

M- Decent carbonation but not as smooth as I thought it would be.

D- Overall I wasn't impressed. It tasted like a ricey version of the American Macro light beers.

The can that it comes in is it's best attribute IMO, really cool looking can. The color was pale as expected. I didn't note a real distinct flavor that would make it enjoyable to me. Mouth feel was pleasant and finished dry. For it's style it certainly is right on and in the right circumstance, such as a sushi restraunt it has it's place. Just not a favorite style for me.

My girlfriend digs this beer, and I've had it a few times.

The appearance makes me sad. Straw yellow, no head, no lacing

Taste: dry

Mouthfeel: not bad, very smooth, thin, light body

It poured a golden straw color with a nice three finger head. Minimal activity could be seen, but the head left some great lacing behind as it retreated.

It had that alcohol/rice smell that I typically attribute to a rice brewed product. There was a nice sweet undetone.

Very neutral, no real taste at first. It then gave way to a light pseudo malt flavor, I was not expecting that out of a rice beer.

There was a little bit of a metallic aftertaste that I find typical when drinking beer stored in a can. (It's not the brewers fault that the distributor only provides a beer in one type of container. I will not take this into account when I score the beer.)

It had a great mouthfeel. Crisp, cool, refreshing. Wet and light with a nice back of the palate dry finish.

A little different. But I could drink a couple of these in a sitting.
