This place opened towards the end of my college career in Plattsburgh, but I made sure to visit often. When they opened, they only had a quarter of the taps they do now, and it was standard Irish/English pub beer. But now, the owner must have found beer taps for cheap at a yard sale because they quadrupled in size! They had northcountry standards, like Magic Hat, Saranac, Lake Placid, etc; but they also had Sierra Nevada Celebration, some germans, belgians, they even had a Lambic on tap! Each beer is served in its designated glass; always important. Decent bottles also, but there is no need for it because they have such a large tap selection.
The crowd is locals and chill during the day, but some college kids make thier way down at night. Even still, its way less college bar than the rest of the bars in downtown plattsburgh. The vibe is really cool. They have re-created an old english pub, as best they can in plattsburgh. Nice fireplace to chill and read/drink on a lazy day and a really nice round (square) bar to kick back a few. There is also a cool patio opened when its warm (June through August) - plattsburgh joke...its always cold in the 'burgh.
The service is great. The bartenders are fast and friendly.
The food is pretty good from what I remember, but it has been years since I have eaten here. I remember the wings being excellent.
Overall, I will be visiting this bar every time I am in plattsburgh, and you should too!
