Pours a nice fluffy almost 2 finger head that fades fairly slowly, nice lacing, hazy tangerine orange color lots of bubbles rising up.

Nose has a big candy malt base, caramel, toffee, sweet amber reddish malts, light bready yeasty, sweet syrupy, light citrus hops, little spicy earthy hops, quite fruity and a big spicy hop bitterness waiting for me.

Taste starts with more malts, sweet candy malts, caramel, toffee, bready malts and bready yeast that gets a little off flavor tasting and unhappy yeast that I can't label, maybe too hot in fermentation, or possibly the early onset of infection. Then hops, quite bitter as it ramps, light citrus, quite spicy and earthy, some pine, chewy hops even, light candy hops too. Finish is still fairly sweet but drier, a lingering long bitterness and earthy spicy hops, and an anesthetized hot booze lingering, and just a touch of that unhappy yeast or possible infection offset.

Mouth is med to fuller bodied, some warming semi hot booze late, good carb.

Overall interesting, but not great, decent hops that don't really excite. Malts are nice balance to the heat and big bitter earthy spicy hops, but also either bad yeast or possible infection.

Slightly hazed, orangey apricot with a light beige head that slowly recedes. Low aroma of floral hops, a little perfumey.

Flavor of toffee malt upfront, followed by grapefruit citrus hops, tastes like centennial. Morphs quickly to pine, and bitter orange rind. Fairly bitter, but this tastes like a single IPA, not a double IPA. Not overly complex, thin mouthfeel, this is just above average overall.

Picked this up from a local wine and cheese store (oddly enough) while out with the wife today.

I poured the 22oz bottle into a Sam Adams point glass.

A - Poured a hazy golden color with a moderate head. Honestly, it looks a bit light for a DIPA. The head dissipated fairly quickly leaving good lacing on the glass.

S - Getting a lot of hops right off the bat. Getting more pine and evergreen as opposed to citrus fruits in some other DIPAs I've had. I'm only getting a little malt in the smell... Overall seems a bit thin on the nose.

T - Taste follows the smell. Getting bitter, spicy hops and pine right away. Certainly not an unpleasant flavor but I expected more complexity from a DIPA. Very dry...reminds of a dry white wine. Not a strong malt backbone on this one which probably leads to the dryness. My mouth is really craving some malt but it's just not there. I think the taste would be excellent with a stronger malt presence, but it's still an enjoyable beer.

M - Good carbonation but not so much that I have an issue with. Feel is on the thin side, I was hoping for it to be a bit more creamy. But, then again, it's probably due to a weaker malt backbone compared to some other DIPAs. Certainly not unpleasant but I expected something a bit more rich.

O - Solid DIPA. Is it among the greats? No, but it's still a solid offering, worth picking up if you can find it. I think some more malt presence would go a long way and could make this beer truly excellent.

A-Pours orange with a thin head. ACBF sample pour does allow me to rightly judge the head or lacing.

S-Balanced. The malt may outweigh the hops. Lots of sweet caramel and other basic malty notes. The hops are rather dull. Piney and oddly herbal.

T-Yeah, more of the same. Relatively odd in its hoppiness. Just as sweet. Balanced but with no really defining flavor. Just very forgettable.

M-Rather thin. Not too bitter.

O/D-Was not a big fan of this one.
