Served in a snifter at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: a one finger head appeared on the beer and then reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale orange color with great clarity and bubbles seen coming up through the glass. Nice lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Tangerine, citrus, lemon, herbal, toasted malts, and pale malts.

Taste: Lemony, herbal, tangerine, orange, pale, and toasted malts.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, refreshing, chewy, mild hop bitterness, medium carbonation, and light to medium bodied.

Overall: Nice and tasty pale ale. Went well with my quesadilla at the end of my shift. Will enjoy more of these when I work next week.

22oz bottle, bottled 7/26/2013, included as an extra in a trade with Respirologist. Poured into an unlabeled snifter today, 10/16/2013. So this is probably a bit older than it should be.

Pours a clear copper-orange body with a ton of head. Very effervescent. Even after several minutes, the head has only receded a little bit. Still very foamy with sticky lacing. As far as APAs go, this is a good looking beer.

Smells a bit soapy, not too hoppy. A pretty decent nose that has a balance of bready malts and floral, citrus (lemon, orange peel) hops. I wonder if they used East Kent Goldings here. But its not a very overwhelming or intense nose by any means.

This beer's flavour profile honestly reminds me of a English Bitter. A nice underlying breadiness and a dab of caramel is accompanied by lemon and orange peel aromatic hops, and a floral bitterness in the back. Drinkable, tasty and not offensive in any way.

Good carbonation, medium bodied with a refreshingly dry finish. Not difficult to drink through this bomber on my own. No hint of alcohol.

This seems more like an English bitter than an American pale ale. I could be wrong with the hops used in this beer but the profile reminds me a lot of Surly's Bitter Brewer, except that was 3.5% ABV. This one clocks in at 5.8%. Not exactly a session beer, but it's more than solid in my book. This is my first Brewmaster Jack offering, and I think that I'd be willing to give their other beers a try now that I've tried this one.. but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it since it is a very, very local beer. Apparently I'm the first one to tick this outside of MA.

22oz bottled May 8th bought from Quality Liquors in Salem, MA. Poured into a Baxter Can-glass. First Brewmaster Jack beer ever.

A - Clean clear amber look with strong carbonation on the bottom of the glass and an occasional bubble breaking off of it. One and a half finger head that dissipates quickly as the bubbles burst.

S - Sour cantaloupe/Melon smell. Kiwi maybe? Lager malt scent. Scent is simple but reminds you of the fundamental fresh pale ale.

T - Not as strong of a hop taste as the smell but still there. Earthy sourness that doesn't overpower. It is rare to find a pale ale with such a balanced malt body without overpowering hops, this beer has a lower specific gravity but good flavor.

M - Washes down nicely; has the consistency of an english pub ale except with a very slight bite. Not bitter in the least. I bet on tap this beer's carbonation could shine through a bit better and provide a highway for the natural melon taste of the beer.

O - Tastes like they use fresh ingredients and everything about this beer is clean. Highly drinkable balanced pale ale with lots of fresh hop aroma.
