Hops and Robbers was formulated with two great friends who share a passion for Craft beer, conversation, stealth missions (Finding great beer on tap) and travel. Nathan and Claude have always been looking for the next big score for IPA’s, so we decided to produce our own beer for the local market that had a great balance, aroma and 50 IBU’s!

This is golden IPA with an exceptionally rich and complex character. Fruity aromas of lemon with hints of pineapple combine crisply with toasty caramel flavours and a tasty malt backbone. Dry hopping with cascade hops ensures more hop aromatics are retained in the finished beer. Made with pride and panache, Double Trouble Brewing’s flagship brand Hops & Robbers is refreshingly delicious.

Serving Type: 500 mL Can

A- Pours a Deep Golden, slightly Amber colour topped with a 2 finger foamy, white head. Awesome retention, really nice doming. Lots of lacing on the glass.

S- Hoppy but very mild. Light orange citrusness with a little maltiness.

T- Once again, everything is mild. Light orange, a little pineapple, and bready notes.

M- Very creamy body. Slightly chewy. Low-Medium Carbonation.

O- While I can't agree with Double Trouble Brewing Co. that Hops and Robbers is "Canada's Most Sessionable IPA" because frankly, there are many Session IPA's that are much better, but they do have a pretty good beer here. It's a great looking and feeling beer but it seriously lacks some punch in the aroma and flavour department. The flavours are pretty good but they are way too mild for my taste. From other examples of the style that I've had, I can confidently say that it is possible to make a Sessionable IPA that is just as tasty as a regular strength IPA but unfortunately, Hops and Robbers isn't that beer.

This beer promises a lot of deliciousness on the label, but disappoints in the end. Not extra-delicious.

I was expecting more hops from this IPA but was disappointed. A good beer nonetheless.

Golden apricot colour with half inch of white head that became a slick and then just a ring. Single-file streams of fine carbonation. Some lacing but only 2 dots left on empty glass.

A buttery aroma. Cakey malt with a faint whiff of orange.

There are the hops. Taste starts with white cake then lemon citrus then pine. You are left with a sharp biting bitterness on the tongue.

Medium feel.

Just OK. Weak aroma and malt taste.

The real thief was the person who called this an ipa. I think there were more hops painted on the can than used in the beer inside it. Quite flavorless and disappointing.

Roasted malts and sweet hops. Not bad but it looks like an american barley wine.
