thanks to ablackshear for this extra!
750ml bottle sealed with pressure cap and clear wax. Cool label art.
poured into tulip glass.
Appearance: yellow bodied beer with 2 finger of bone white head.
Smell: green apple. pear skin, and white grapes.
Taste: mild tartness. green apples, pears, and white grape. Bready malts. Fruity and yeasty.
Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with high carbonation levels. Very sessionable.
Overall: This is not a wild beer. Its is more of a belgian pale ale with a yeast forward profile. This is my first TRVE bottle. I dig what they tried to accomplish, but its not a wild ale.

a lovely new beer, freshly bottled from the trve folks. fortunate enough to share this with its creator Zach, a humble and articulate young man who seems to have a solid handle on barrel fermentation and subtlety. this pours a mostly clear pale honey color with a lasting white head over an inch tall in a wine glass. a lovely specimen. the nose on this is sweeter than its grain bill. smells like a belgian triple. the brett doesn't do too much to the nose, just very light, mildly citric. the flavor is great, also simple yet layered. belgian style pilsener malt kicks it off, and the brett dries it right up in the finish. a delicate and drinkable beer, one i think is a lovely gateway to an american wild. its not real funky, farmy, tart, acidic, or sour, but is full of flavor and lets the brett come on slow. a bottle i would like to age and share, and a very well put together product. i hope their bottles are successful, this is excellent and easy drinking.

From a 750 ml bottle (looks like Batch "N") into a tulip.
A-A normal pour produces about two fingers of nearly white head. The foam is thin and fizzy like soda, and it fades quickly into nothing. No lacing. The beer is light in color, a golden straw, and hazy.
S-The aroma is a odd mixture of mild, brett-y funk and light-colored fruits like apple and pear. There is a bit of doughy sweetness underneath a lightly tart mixture of lemon and orange citrus. It is mild.
T-The taste is brett forward, but not overpowering. Instead, the flavor is a subtle mixture of apple, citrus, and semi-sweet tropical fruits like mango. The funk is quite mild.
M-The feel is on the light side with an aggressive, almost annoying, level of carbonation.
O-I'm not sure what to make of this beer, my first bottle experience with TRVE. On the one hand, I applaud the restraint shown in not making this a 10% funked-up monster, but on the other hand, I am left wanting a little more. The complexity is there, but I could use a bit more oomph. Also, too much carbonation. See, e.g., Red Swingline as a great example of how to funk up a low ABV beer.
