Stopped with a friend for a flight. Flavor profiles were satisfactory but mouth feel was a little on the thin watery side. Dug the metal aspects of the place, artwork and of course the music. I am unaware if there was any food available. This place is new, so I might revisit later if new breweries ever stop popping up in Denver.

I admittedly only tried two bottled sours while here, because it was late in a long day of brewery hopping. The sours were solid 4's (out of 5). I would certainly happily drink them again, but not at the price they are sold for. The brewery itself just felt like a music club, and the patrons were what you'd expect from a black metal brewery... They all felt like they were trying too hard. While at the bar, I had 4 people ask me about sours in general and about that beer, so I got the vibe that this place is more of a fun spot rather than a beer seeker spot. I appreciate that TRVE is bridging a gap between the craft beer world and the average PBR crowd that they seem to attract.

Delicious beers and rad metal atmosphere. Wonderful fresh beers on tap served in real pints for $5! Scorn and NPON are the best pale ales I have had in Colorado. Prehistoric Dog is a wonderful gose for the summertime. Dunwich porter and Stout O))) are great winter warmer beers. My favorite brew pub in the state.

A-TRVE is long, narrow, and sort of dark (insert dick joke here). I had heard about the metal theme before visiting, but when I visited the place, it was light outside and the music wasn't cranked up too high. That being said, the vibe is not a typical laid-back "brah" type brewery. The walls are black and the music is heavy, but it was on at a mild volume. Anyway, there is a long table up front and a 20-ish seat bar, nothing else. I could see crowding being an issue.

Sel-I know TRVE because of their sours, which have made it into bottles around Denver, but TRVE does more than sours. They offer a full selection of styles from dark and sour to light and wheat. Indeed, there were eight or ten beers on tap when I visited that ran the gamut in terms of style.

Q-I tried the IPA and have previously tried a few different types of sour beers and all have been above average. The dark sour beer, Winter Zephyr, is particularly good.

Ser-The bartender was prompt and the beers were poured correctly in appropriate glasses. I did not chat much with the bartender, but I overheard her talking shop with another customer and she spoke intelligently about the different styles on offer.

V-My pint of IPA was $5 and the tasters were also reasonably priced...$2, I think. This is on the lower side of average for the area.

O-I like my punk rock, but I think metal is stupid, so I have not made TRVE a high priority. Honestly though, the metal feel on the day I visited was pretty mellow and the beers are pretty tasty. If you are in the South Broadway area and looking for a beer, TRVE is worth a stop.

Cool place, great music (if you like metal), nice atmosphere, great service, beer was good, definitely worth checking out. only 7 or 8 taps, but for a new place, they were great.

This is the kind of place you'll either love or hate. I don't mind the blaring, sludgy, death metal that gets played in the background but it isn't really conducive to conversation or socializing for that matter. 3 Floyds finds a way to play that type of music and yet create an environment where customers aren't deafened by the thunderous power chords, perhaps that is because their product is significantly better. This place is refreshingly different from many other Denver breweries, but its atmosphere and beer comes across a bit flat, like the music.

Great brews on tap, not really my style of place but then again I didn't go for the ambiance. I tried a few other places in town as well and their brew was definitely up to the quality I was expecting to get when I was in Denver. All in all a real solid place. P.S. Don't drink from the horn.
