Pours a dark, slightly murky reddish purple, with a gushing amount of light pink head.

The aroma is all razzleberries. I have never actually eaten a boysenberry, but judging by this beer I am guessing it is a lot like raspberries with a little bit of blackberry and cherry thrown in. The aroma is very fruity and exactly what I was hoping for. Just a touch of yeast and a wheatiness in the background.

The taste is again very fruity with just a slightly tart edge.

The mouthfeel is okay but the excessive carbonation fills your mouth on each sip/swish and makes it difficult to taste the beer fully.

Overall this is an interesting beer. Glad I picked it up but probably won't do so again. Definitely worth seeking out if you like beers with berries.

330ml bottle purchased from Slowbeer and poured into a Mikkeller goblet.

Very dark appearance, with a hint of ruby and a light pink/purple head of foam that was about an inch in height and settles at about half that with compact bubbles.

Initially the aroma is sour, then boysenberry becomes quite noticeable as it should be. Touch of ice-cream sweetness comes through later. Must admit there is an oddish aroma that i can't identify but it does detract a bit from the overall experience.

Tastes moderately sour, relatively well balanced finish, slightly dry. Not as fruity tasting as the aroma would lead you to believe.

The mouthfeel is good, the sourness is not over the top, relatively smooth.

Overall, quite a nice beer. Defintely in the top quartile of fruit beers from this part of the world.

Pours deep, dark mauve with a small purple head.
Nose shows sour berries, sort of similar to cherries and raspberries. Has a lambic-esque character to it. Very appealing berry character.
Similar flavours, sour at first before transitioning to sweet berries. Very short lasting finish, quickly fades away to nothing.
Carbonation is way too high.

Poured in 12oz tulip glass
Black cherry color with Champagne like carbonation, smell of tart berry with hints of rose, and cranberry likeness
mouthfeel is full but not sweet with a dry tart berry aftertaste. the berry is nicely integrated.

Overall; If this was not so pricey i would drink this as often as i could get it.

A 640ml bottle between a few beer lovers in New Zealand.
Red Wine Glasses and Sniffers
Appearance-A red-purple body reminiscent of a raspberry fruit juice. A lot of carbonation and a massive white head that quickly dissipated.
Smell- A somewhat sweet fruit aroma with a wheat base and slight yeast esters. (It makes sense because they started brewing with a wheat base.)
Taste- A rather tart, slightly sweet taste. The sweetness is concentrated at the front and the tartness come throughout the entire mouth.
Mouthfeel-A dry slightly heavy feel with some serious carbonation.
Drinkability- Perfect for a bottle split.

330ml bottle purchased from the International Beer Shop in Perth. It always amuses me when beer travels over my head or right past me to the other side of the continent before getting to me.

Pours a hazy and opaque pink-purple colour, with a fine head of fairy-floss coloured foam. This dissipates very quickly, leaving only a fine ring of sketchy bubbles around the outside. Certainly a suitable colour for a boysenberry beer, or a boysenbeery berr, but otherwise a little insipid.

Nose is tart with unripe berry characters and a faint hint of lactic acidity. A bit of something musty and cellarlike as well, with a weird character of concrete dust. The berry aroma is very muted, but if you're looking for it, it's there—however, it's so subdued that you'd almost be forgiven for not realising it's a berry-flavoured beer if served this truly blind.

Taste is mild, with a slight twang of carbonic acidity and an aftertone of raisin sweetness that evokes the boysenberry character, even if it doesn't truly exemplify it. Very little sweetness or acidity to it, meaning that once the initial flavour has been dumped, it peters out to a watery nothing much like seltzer water.

It's a very average brew, and missing a lot. Sure, it has some berry characters, but with almost nothing else at all. Very uninspiring.

A - pink colored head on a deep purple, opaque body

S - light tart berry aroma.

T - tart berry tase, just like the smell. Has a very distinct wine type taste.

M - lightly carbonated, light body. Quite a bit of a bitter taste on the palate.

O - overall, it was ok. It was a lightly fruity beer. It wasn't tasty enough to be like a lambic. Kind of in a weird limbo but if you like fruit in beer, definitely worth a try.

A - Vivid crimson purple body under a bubbly thin head and traces of lacing.

S - Boysenberry ice cream and sweet vanilla.

T - Mildly sour before the berry sweetness takes over. Tasty but a little one dimensional.

M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

O - Not a bad tart/sweet beer that would be best appreciated with a creamy desert.

Guess I dint know this is s'posed to be served chilled and let it warm a bit out of the fridge. Served with a fizzy, foamy, pink lavender head that soon settles to an island and the tiniest bit of lace. Color is a clear cherry red with loads of bubble trails. Aroma is Boysenberries, malt, butter. Flavor's like nose, on the dry side, plenty of carbonic tang, butter's more noticable at the beginning. Body is good and has plenty of carbonation. Finish is like flavor with berry and tang lingering for a while.

This beer poured out as a deep red color with a pinkish colored head. The head was fizzy and didn't have much lacing or retention to it. The smell of the beer was fruity, sweet and had a slightly tart aroma. The taste was similar to the nose, the tart fruitiness isn't really balanced with the malts. The mouthfeel is watery and decently carbonated. Overall this beer was more like a watered down Lambic to me. It's not something I would drink a lot of but it was nice to try.

The beer pours a deep, dark red-brown mounted by a thin white head (with a reddish tint of course). The smell is a light berry tartness followed by a very subtle alcohol bite. However, the taste is kind of flat and doesn't live up to its intriguing aroma. It ends up being a slightly bitter/malty framboise want-to-be. The mouthfeel is slightly tart, but falls flat far too soon. There are no lingering aftertastes. Honestly, for almost $7/12oz bottle...this is probably something I'd pass on next time.

No freshness date notched on the label. Poured into a frosted Purple Haze glass.

Hazy magenta color with a carnation pink head that fell to a ring.

Lightly sweet fruity aroma with a fruit pancake syrup character to it. Can’t say that I’ve ever tasted or smelled boysenberry, but it has a unique red berry nose like strawberry. Nice showing of malts in the nose with a subtle toasty note.

Toasty wheat malts take a backseat to tart seedy strawberry and blueberry syrup. A little honeyed, yet not as intensely sweet as one might expect. Crisp finish with some hops noticeable. Very clean in the end with that kiss of hops, bleeding-through malts, and juicy berry tartness.

Scrubbingly carb-ed. Bushy. Medium-to-thin body. Very drinkable.

Nice fruit wheat. I’m pleasantly surprised. Would choose this New Zealand brew over most. Snag one up.
