Pours dark brown with a large, lasting head.
Nose is quite floral and hoppy, light fruit and piny resin show along with some earthy characters... Not exactly too style hey? Underneath is lots of caramel with very soft peat and golden syrup.
Same story with the flavours, seems more like an IPA than a scotch ale! Lots of caramel and resinous pine. Some heavier, richer malt shows later along with some warming alcohol and bold bitterness.
Carbonation is much too high.
I'm really confused, this is just so incredibly hoppy for the style...

Interesting brew. Bartender says very limited availabiiity. Poured with a nice, thick, creamy, textured, cream colored head and lots of lace. Aroma is olives! Flavor is peat, malt, fairly dry, nice tang. Body and carbonation are ok. Finish is like flavor, short, especially for the style, and very drinkable.

Invercargill have not enthused me in the past. I've given them this third and potentially final beer to prove their worth to me.

This one pours a pleasant red-brown hue, with a good thick head of pale beige. Lacing is pretty solid. Clarity in the body is good, even if the body itself is a bit lightweight, especially for a 7% Wee Heavy. Hmm.

Nose is a little sweet with a slight apple cider character (oh no!), and a reedy thinness the cuts through everything. Despite the sweet flavours, there's no breadth or fullness. Hint of pepper as well, which is quite surprising and unexpected. Hmm.

Taste is... oh no Invercargill, this is not the redeeming palate you needed. Thin, slightly peppery start, with a long but one-dimensional bitterness through to the back. A hint of some roasted characters coming through the palate and lingering in the aftertaste, but otherwise nothing that marks this as a Wee Heavy. Palate is thin apart from the sharpness through the centre.

Very unimpressed. Stylistically? Not good. As a beer in its own right? Not good. Another well below-average beer from Invercargill. I've given them plenty of opportunities, but I'm afraid this is the third strike—it will take something quite impressive for me to give them another chance.

Clear dark mahogany colour with a smooth, creamy tan head. Good head retention.

Deep toffee aroma with a touch of roast. Quite earthy and not really fruity.

Earthy, chalky, dry malt with a roasty edge. Good toffee character. Mild fruitiness. Very bitter for style and with plenty of peat but I like it a lot.

Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. A little bit thin.

A lovely malty beer with good toffee and roast which adds up to a delicious earthy beverage.

Pours a deep red see through copper hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a creamy two finger head and sporadic clingy lacing, the smell is caramel, butterscotch, toffee and piney hops, the mouthfeel is light-medium bodied and has tastes of slight peated malts, butterscotch, toffee, caramel and finished with a piney, resinous hop dry finish and overall another easy entry to the Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy category and i for one like the easy transition cheers will buy again.
