We love to go here for watching our favorite sports teams. Great location and good selection of beer and other cocktails. The food is above average. And you can always meet people from other locations of the world. There is Pool, lottery games, and never ending peanuts. There are numerous big screen TV's. So you can watch several sports or games at one time. Open 7 days a week. Great Clam chowder, fish and chips, burgers, steaks, and my favorite is the stuffed chicken breast with hot fresh bread. My favorite beer on tape is the Rogue Ale.

If you look at the Yelp or Tripadvisor reviews on this place you're likely to avoid it. I'd say to those reviewers, however, c'mon this is a bar don't review it to the standards of a 5 star restaurant.

Atmosphere: Good marks here, because the upstairs is an average pub restaurant but with a great view of Nye Beach, perfect for enjoying a brew while watching the sunset. The downstairs is a divish bar where peanut shells are thrown on the floor, there are several flatscreen TVs where you can watch the ball game. There is also a good game room where you can get your foosball on. Pretty fun place overall.

Quality (in terms of beer): Great, they have twelve beers on tap, most of which are craft. When I was there I had a Rogue Dead Guy and a Stone Arrogant Bastard. They also had Mirror Pond among others. Beers are cheap too, I think I was paying $3 for craft pints during happy hour (which lasts most of the afternoon). For the beer nerd, I wouldn't expect the servers to know much about the beer in particular because they won't. In terms of food they have good appetizer-type stuff, but I'd avoid the entrees (mostly based on food reviews I've read, plus there are a lot of better food places around Newport).

Service: not anything to praise here. The job gets done but it isn't particularly speedy or friendly.

I would certainly recommend this place. Go early if you're planning to watch an Oregon or Oregon State football game as the place will fill up with their respective fans. Cheers.
