The intent is to exhibit the fresh and bright character of the hops. We dry hopped it with over a pound of hops per barrel of beer. It's gold in color and the floral ester aroma is high. The hop bitterness is high, but not at all harsh. The hop flavor is high, fresh, and lively. Yet with all of our beers, it's all about balance and this one is no exception. The malt character is fairly high and provides a tremendously full mouthfeel. Finally, the alcohol in this beer is intentionally present (and delicious).

Look: amber with a thick off-white head

Aroma: biscuit, citrus, pine resin

Flavor: The flavor is biscuit, citrus, and then a moderate piney bitterness. It could have been a bit more bitter

Body/Overall: medium body, slightly above average IPA

Pours dark copper in color with a tan head. Head gives way to nice lacing. Nose is caramel/malty, Taste has strong malty caramelization. Backend is full on great bitterness!

Absolutely phenomenal. This beer “sat me down” before I was able to. Although it looks like my pee after eating a can of pickled beets, I love the appearance. Hard clean and crispy. Great beer.

Drank this in August 2020 out on the high side of the Pitt Dam. Looked like a nice clear day compared to August 2021 smoke fest (fires).

Pours a seriously amber and viscous liquid. Thiccc. 2/3" off white head. The color is ugly, the head and retention are impressive. This mixed bag is about as good as this beer gets unfortunately. The aroma is lacking especially for a beer that they claim was meant to show. Somewhat interesting in this day and age they won't tell you what hops. Smells bitter and caramel.

Taste is just a throwback beer. All bitterness, little hop flavor. Lots of caramel notes. Its like those jokes about triple ipas becoming barleywines. The mouth feel is all caramel and bitterness. I couldn't even guess what hop is here, even Simcoe has a more dry bittering, C hops have grapefruit or pine, this was just like copper caramel all day.

I dig the backstory to the beer, but every hoppy beer I've had from this brewery didn't work for me. I like their other stuf though. Weird for a hophead and grower to write that, but maybe I have higher expectations.

Looks great for a DIPA with a thick and lasting head. Hop aroma is not as strong as most DIPAs I’ve been drinking lately. Neither is it as sweet tasting but taste is good. It’s easy drinking, goes down smooth and creamy and has a slight bitterness on the back end. Overall a good beer.
