The appearance is golden with an adequate cream-colored head. The smell is very suttle, a hint of malts & toasty. It tastes bitter with a hint of wheat. Not much aftertaste. Mouthfeel is crisp, clean, & just a little acidic. Drinkability is just average because although it is rather smooth, there's not much taste or smell.

11.2 oz. bottle poured into pilsener
(best before: 1/10/15)

L: pale yellow, clear with a misty look; thick 1-inch head of white foam that sticks hard; nice collar of frothy white foam; not a lot of lacing

S: sweet ... very sweet bready malt; fruity

T: oranges ... like the nose, very sweet; a bit of grain, but the sweet biscuit/bready malt taste is thorough; if there's a hop flavor, it's mostly a balancing agent that takes a little of the sweetness ... nothing bitter; peaches; fruity -- comes off like an American-made English pale ale

F: a bit soft but enough carbonation to keep it drinkable

O: loads of taste and VERY drinkable ... it's a great alternative to the German pilsener, and at times it's so sweet and fruity that you get some of the English pale ale sweet twang. it's perhaps a bit watery, but the taste is full-strength, so it works out just fine. a beer I will definitely grab again.

Poured almost two fingers of head on a clear, golden colored body.
The aroma is smells of dry wheat and barley, just a touch metallic.
The taste has a nice grain flavor. Not much else, but what's there is fine.
The texture is softer with moderate carbonation.
It has decent flavor and is easy drinking and enjoyable.

I purchased this beer at Total Wine & More in Virginia Beach as part of a sampling of their German/Belgian beers.

Appearance: Clear and golden...some light lacing. Very light, moderately carbonated head that hung around for a bit.

Smell: Solidly malty, with a bit of noble hop scent. Yeast is present in the scent as well, but pleasantly so.

Taste: A round, 'brown' malty sweet wash with a refreshingly light kick of balanced hop bitterness. slightly bready finish. I enjoyed this beer most at 50 deg. F. This temperature seemed to bring out the most flavor in the malt.

Mouthfeel: A bit sparkly and bubbly at first, with a light alcohol sting...this leads to a long-lasting rich mouthfeel, which coats for a while. Not the slightest bit unpleasant.

Overall: This is what beer is all about....barley, yeast, subtle but simple flavors. The only way this beer could be better to me? A tiny, tiny bit less maltiness. Overall, a great German lager.

A- Pale straw with a fluffy white head. Head retention is very good, and teh lacing clumps in rings with each sip.

S- Grains, honey.

T- cereal grains with more honey. makes me think of honey-nut cheerios. The finish shows some strong notes of corn.

M- light bodied, but slightly creamy with light, gentle carbonation. It is slightly sticky.

O- Not what I was expecting at all. Try it.
