330ml flip top bottle, poured into a straight sided pint glass
Pours with a light yellow body. Head forms about half an inch thick, pure white. Settles down to a thin whispy layer, fair retention. Lots of lacing up and down the glass
Smell, grassy and ever so slightly floral hops, biscuity malt with a hint of mustiness. Little touch of fresh wort, steeping grains and a little bit of fresh herbs
Taste, crisp and grassy on the mouthfeel, little bit of hop bitterness and lemon zest character. Fairly thin mouthfeel, biscuity malt on the finish with some floral hops
A fairly solid pilsner, drinkable and with enough flavour to make the experience enjoyable

I got this at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL. $2.99 for a 330ml brown bottle with a ceramic flip top cap. There is a best before freshness date stamped on the bottom of the back label. Mine is marked 8/12/14, so it's still plenty fresh.
The beer poured a mostly clear pale gold color with a 2½-finger fluffy white head that lasted several minutes. There was also a fair amount of thick lacing left on the glass.
Rather weak nose. Just picking up a little grassy hops.
Stronger than anticipated hop presence here. It's a bit bitter, but there's plenty of bready malt and lemon twang to keep it balanced. The bitterness continues to linger in the aftertaste.
Light to medium body with moderate to medium carbonation.
This is a decent German pilsener.
