Bomber labeled as Hypothesis.

Seved cold into a goblet.

Hypothesis is a golden amber color with great clarity and thin short-lived head.

Aroma is sweet and slightly spicy but has surprisingly little hop aroma for a double IPA.

Flavor is much stronger and mor bitter than the aroma would suggest. A slightly sweet start to the sip leads to a big bitter hop bite towards the middle. It finishes a bit more dry but the hoppiness lingers on.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated.

Overall a solid effort from a River North. It has similar elements to its saison, probably the yeast, but is geared more for the hop head.

On tap at the brewery served in a taster glass. Bright yellow-orange, filmy head. Aroma is esters and floral hops. Flavor is floral hops that slide into a soapy flavor accompanied by the belgian yeast spiciness. Overall I thought this was just ok though it did mask the alcohol well.

Pours a clear amber with a brownish tinge. Thin but long-lasting cap of foam. Nicely tingly in the mouth. A sweet aroma with something like geraniums.

An intriguing mix of flavors. The surprisingly strong clove flavor is the least pleasant of them. Better is the touch of cedar and mango nectar.

The yeasty dryness comes through midway. Bitterish finish, though less bitter than some of these Belgian hybrids I've been trying lately. Minty chewing gum plus a lot of pepper and pencil shavings. Orange with some orange peel. Still sweet in spite of the yeasty taste.

Quite sippable and you forget it's as strong as a summer white wine. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Wilbur's Total Beverage in Fort Collins.

Cloudy orange amber pour into a globe glass nets a rising head of two fingers. Retention is excellent and leaves attractive lacing on the glass.

Intense aroma of hops, booze and Belgian character. Wafting coriander, dried ginger and lemon zest followed by fruity peach, grapefruit and lemongrass. Alcohol aroma is less intense but present.

An explosion of Belgian character, coriander, clove, lemongrass and powdery yeast that blends with a tight pale malt graininess. Hop flavor is limited to a lemon citrus and grassy blast but bold bitterness matches well with the drying Belgian spices and yeast. Alcohol to finish.

High, crisp carbonation keeps this brew on its feet. Body is substantial and appropriate. Dries well though I wish the alcohol could be kept more in check.

Powerful Belgian IPA on all fronts, the spices, yeast and booze are really too much for the hops and malt in this beer. Lots of flavor, fairly complex and I can easily see why it would have a favorable rating. Just not my thing, needs some balance, subtlety and to let the hops shine.

Wet grass and tart lemon aroma wafts up from a semi-cloudy, golden yellow body. A thick, creamy white head hovers above the body; creamy and sticky. Bitterness headbutts you with the first sip, followed with a bready, yeasty malt character and backed up with a noticeable boozy character; peppery. A slick, slippery feel across the tongue, coupled with a tingle of tiny carbonation bubbles; crisp and dry finish.

An intense IPA with lots of bite. This one should satisfy those looking for big booze and big hop character.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a medium meringue white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is some fruit, funky earthy yeast, and some light metallic hops.

The flavor is sweet sugary bready malts with some tropical fruits and earthy yeast and a good sized bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a pretty good Belgian IPA. Not my favorite style but this has decent balance of funk, fruit and bitterness.
