This is REALLY amazing. I've been at their bar located in the West Side of Evansville before they closed it to the public. So good! Really, all of their beers, but the Overlord is easily my favorite across all IPAs.

Stop with the burnt malt bombs and let good hops take over. I feel like a lot of the Indiana IPAs are chasing huge, malty backbones like 3F 15 years ago. This started with promise but the malt killed it.

The eradication of the pesky backlog CANtinues as The CANQuest (tm) racks 'em up, sets 'em down & generally does its own thing!
From the CAN: "Ordinary beer does not compute."; "Tin Man Brewing Co. was assembled in 2012, an alloy of production brewery and restaurant. Committed to sustaining a habitable environment for all living and mechanical beings, we utilize innovative processes to minimize waste and maximize taste. Forging new ground, we were one of the first small craft breweries in the United States to use a mash filter."; "> Product of the USA[:] Precision built in Evansville, Indiana"; "> CANS Are Better [-] Humans have been utilizing glass containers since as early as 12,000 BC. Newer technology is available and sustainable. Discover why we selected cans to hold our quality brews.""You will obey your overlord and drink this full-bodied IPA. You will enjoy the harmonious balance of its columbus, cascade, and centennial hops. You will be lured into our empire by its sweet, pineapply aroma and chinook dry hopping. You will be ruled by Overlord."
I was kinda scared to Crack! open the vent on this Tin Man for fear that it may anger the Overlord, but the whole event was rather innocuous. I was even gentle with the Glug so the Overlord rewarded me with a finger of dense, foamy, bone-white head with excellent retention, almost refusing to fall away. Color was a gorgeous Golden-Amber (SRM = > , < 7) with NE-quality clarity, enticing a visit from The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus, all wanting to meet this Tin Man & its Overlord. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but very carbonated & scrubbing on the tongue. The taste was VERY pine, woody, resinous and minty. Yum! No lactose sugar, no tropical hops, no none of the stuff that generally puts me off currently. Mmm. Pineapple? Not so much, but lots of cool pine mintiness. The scariest thing about the Tin Man & its Overlord was how easily I was drinking a 9% ABV monster! Sure, it had an inherent bitterness and the IBU measurement was probably relatively high, but the cool mintiness kind of offset all of that. Finish was cool, dry & minty & for the umpteenth time in recent memory, I was put in mind of my late Pops & his trademark Carlton Menthol cigarettes. Man, this was an impressive drink!
