WOW. That is all. I really enjoyed this disticntly different style of beer, a smooth malty brew, lovely subtle hop taste without the hoppy linger. After- taste was "honey" like. Well balanced and well worth a try. Went straight online and ordered some more it was that good! Had to admit it was one of the best NZ craft beers I've tried in a while.

Pours copper with a fading head.
Nose shows caramel, resinous hops, some fruit, bready malt and toasty notes.
Pretty aggressive flavours, very hoppy but lots of malt too. Some caramelised, almost melanoidin-like malt. Piny and grapefruit hops with a sharp bitterness follow.
Good high carbonation.

Bright reddish-brown, auburn colour.

The aroma is fairly subdued, although there is some fresh hops and an earthy character coming through.

The initial taste is dominated by the pungent hops flavor (that will be the whole cone Nelson Sauvin hops), but before too long the caramelized sugar and toffee flavours come to the fore, with a good amount of pungent hops bitterness and a slightly funky, almost mushroomy taste on the finish.

The texture is smooth, with a velvety, rich mouthfeel.

If you like your beers to have a good amount of bitterness but also some sweet caramel malt flavor, this is the beer for you! I certainly enjoyed it.

Been spoilt for choice lately and another brewery I'm keen to see more off and pours a slight hazed copper hue with an off white two finger head that stays and clingy sporadic lacing, the smell is grapefruit, pine, orange zest, burnt caramel and boiled candy, the mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and tastes are grapefruit, toffee, pine citrus and finished with a roasted nuttiness and overall it's nice and fairly drinkable without being over the top cheers.

Format: enjoyed a 250mL 'Garage Project tulip / snifter glass' at the Mess Hall at Garage Project during Auckland Good Beer Week.

Appearance: as the name suggests, this beer pours out a deep ruby-brown colour with a light haze. A one-finger white head settles to a solid and creamy half-finger with decent lacing. Looks good!

Aroma: some heavy stone fruits with plenty of earth and biscuit malts. Quite appealing.

Taste: follows the nose quite closely, with the earth and biscuits coming through strongly.

Aftertaste: a lingering bitterness in the throat from the earth malts. Quite smooth.

Mouth feel: a moderate body with a medium amount of carbonation. Sits about right for the beer.

Overall: a fantastic red ale from Garage Project. Well combined flavours and a great body - well worth the price of AU$15 for a 650mL bottle.

Clear dark red colour with a smooth and long lasting light tan head.

Slightly fruity hop aroma with lots of malt. Nicely balanced on the nose.

Malty and smooth palate. Some hop flavour but not that much. Light bitterness. Good.

Medium full body with moderate carbonation. Fine.

A really solid beer. The smooth maltiness is good and it is very tasty with the balancing dose of hops. Good.
