The soldiers that dragged the 100 cannons up the side of Little Kennessaw Mountain knew something about fortitude. This ale would not let them down. A piney/citrusy/ danky IPA, Cannon Dragger is aggressively dosed with “C” hops all threw itʼs journey from the grain to the glass. Itʼs pays off, Itʼs a feat of amazing beer strength!

Just finished a Fear Movie Lions DIPA from Stone, and I'm a huge Stone fan from the early 90s, but to classify this as merely an IPA is missing the mark. Dank and rich up front, not overly bitter with a nice mouth feel and light aftertaste. One of my new favorite breweries and beers.

Solid DIPA. Poured from a can hazy amber color white creamy 1” head with lots of lacing. Danky piney smell. Also pick up a bit of malt. Thicker than many similar beers Noticeably heavy mouth feel. I notice the malts app n the flavor bit finishes with a noted pine bite. Very good “southern” style double IPA.

I got a can of this in Atlanta right before my appendix burst. It poured a cloudy amber with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had tropical fruit notes. The taste is sweeter leaning with tropical fruit presence. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Highly herbal muted hop character which makes me Wonder about oxidation. Malt character is too malt heavy with some caramel qualities that detract from the hop character. Hops are pine, resin, and honeysuckle but not fruity enough to go with the caramel malt. Bitterness medium.
Mouthfeel was average to above average with medium body and a dry finish.
Not a well-conceived IPA - like you’d expect in 2007.

Judging my the ABV, I opted for my tulip as I don't think this is a single IPA.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt dark orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a slow pace. Mild lace ran here and there without much/or any cling.
The aroma leaned towards the danky side and developed a sly citrusy hop sweet note as it warmed. Mild earthiness, and a touch of spice came in for a nice well rounded nose.
The flavor was moderately sweet pulling that dankiness back in and added a touch of pine bitterness. Citrusy hop note was there, but fairly mild. Aftertaste was citrusy, danky and had a touch of biscuits.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as projected. Semi-danky to citrusy finish.
Overall, as a DIPA, I'd say this works. It's one to come back to. Thanks Willie.

Danky as hell. I just started getting into burnt hickory a few weeks ago and have been going to the brewery everyweek. There beers do not dissappoint at all!

First had at The Burnt Hickory Brewery tour, on draft into clear plastic disposable beer cup. Although I am regularly disappointed by DIPAs, this one does not.
