John Bell Hood was called “Old Wooden Head” by his troops for his tenacity and hard headed-ness. Our ale is just that. Full of hops (how many? we donʼt know) Full of Malt (we shut a whole field down) this extreme gravity beer will not stop until you surrender to itʼs amazing flavor.

A really fine double IPA- big and bold with loads of flavor and a full body to match. I was pleased to find this on at the Brick Store Pub on a recent visit, and thoroughly enjoyed my pour. Big and a bit thick, this one clearly has scads of malt to develop the body, but I wouldn't call it sweet- more like chewy. A nice deep aroma and flavor of the malt comes through, coupled with a deep, diverse hoppiness that leans more toward pine and earth than bright citrus, although a bit of that is there as well. One of the better beers I've had from the newer crop of breweries in Atlanta- I look forward to great things from this place.

Bottled 3-17-15, enjoyed 3-25-15

Appearance: Medium clarity, orange body, one finger lasting white cap, good lacing.

Aroma: Fruity hop dominate citrus and stone fruit. More specifically grapefruit and peach.

Flavor: Still manages to be very hop forward and drinkable for 10% ABV. Hop profile dominates in the same flavors noted above. Booze character is present, but much lower than others in it's class, and actually lower than previous batches.

Mouthfeel: Relatively light bodied, moderate carb, and slight booze.

Overall: Another stand out hop-forward brew from BHB. Keep it up dudes.
