Appearance: Pours a cloudy ruby red color. No head.

Smell: Smells of caramel brown sugar cherries dates dark fruits and booze.

Taste - Taste mirrors the nose. Great fruity taste with just a touch of booze. Not overpowering like some BBA barleywines.

Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel.

Overall: Amazing amazing stuff. Great Bourbon Barrel barleywine and one of my favorite BHB beers. (383 characters)

I was so lucky to procure this where I am...thank you Suzy, 'cuz this stuff is divine... Candyish with a balanced but strong hoppy finish. Slightly floral with a hint of anise...loved it... (189 characters)

I've had the beer for a week or so and finally settled in to a glass yesterday. Shared with some family and all were totally blown away. If its this good now then how good will it be after it ages a little. Holy Cow! (218 characters)

Sweet and hoppy. Loads of burnt candy flavors with a hoppy finish. Boozy but no barrel. Maybe needed more time in the barrel. Definitely would enjoy this on a cold night. Overall a solid barleywine but needs more barrel. (221 characters)

Appearance: Served up a deep, rust-colored brown body with a slim, bubbly, bone white head.

Smell: Heavy, intoxicating (I can fully confirm this) nose of, well, bourbon, brown sugar, caramel sauce, toasted bread, faint vanilla sugar, middling fruitiness, and more bourbon. I approve.

Taste: Nails the tongue with a wallop of rich, malty sweetness. Carrying over from the nose is the brown sugar, caramel, but also honey and almond syrup over a moderately toasty malt base. Faint raisin. Then, a wash and wave of bourbon that, when considering the sweetness, has a bottled bourbon glaze quality. Sweet, succulent finish with lingering typos, drunk dialing, and stupors.

Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-light carbonation.

Overall: An impeccable brew that should be considered a full meal by itself. It makes for a great midday pick-me-up. Friends, you'll be ready to hit the ground running after a few ounces of this. (931 characters)
