A true OCTOBER FILE. Our Imp PUMPKIN PORTER is named for one of the truly visionary rock bands of all time, Die Kreuzen. German for “The Crosses” our FALL SEASONAL is meant for colder darker days.

Poured from a cooled bomber into a tulip.

A: Pours a dark chocolate brown with a foamy off-white head that quickly thins to a ring but lacey nicely throughout.

S: Notes of pumpkin, toast, coffee and a little toffee.

T: Light roast with notes of pumpkin and spices. Coffee and pumpkin.

M: Medium bodied, a little thin for a porter. Some carbonation keeps the palate from getting cluttered with pumpkin.

O: A nice-tasting beer that could use a little heft through the middle, it is nonetheless satisfying and with a well-hidden ABV. This was my second helping and I enjoyed both sessions.

Prost to one of the tightest Hardcore bands of the early 80’s. Great beer too.

I've always loved pumpkin porters- I'd mix my own back in the day when almost no one but Elysian made them. This one is exceptional- it pushes the envelope with a deep, almost burnt, roastiness that contrasts nicely with the not too sweet pumpkin and spice and has that underlying silkiness that tames the roast a bit from the pumpkin itself. Always a treat from this very good brewery.

pours a dark brown in color with a nice two inch foam. Nice Chocolate, Pumpkin and some spices on the nose. upon tasting the pumpkin flavor was enjoyable, you also get vanilla and some spices. Much better pumpkin beer than the Shipyard Pumpkin Ale I had the day before.

First had poured from growler, purchased at Wise Owl Growlers, Kennesaw, Georgia, into faceted mug. Well-balanced pumpkin beer, i.e., not too much pumpkin or pumpkin pie spice flavors.

look: Dark brown with some cola highlights. Tan head with wisps of lingering lace.
smell: Roasty Porter and aromatic spices compete in a good way.
taste: really nicely integrated Porter and Pumpkin, and aromatic spice. Smooth and mostly dry. Very tasty.
