Soft and citrusy, Whirlpool is a hazy New England pale ale. Pours hazy blonde with a nose of ripe peach and grapefruit. Sips juicy, fruity, and crisp, with minimal bitterness and big clementine notes. A bright, vibrant beer that’s wonderfully drinkable and remarkably refreshing.
Our first brew of Whirlpool was a 60 gallon batch brewed in 2014. When it sold out immediately, we knew we’d created something special. Its recipe today is essentially the same as that first batch – a malt bill of wheat, oats, and barley; generously hopped and dry-hopped with Mosaic and Ella hops. An all-time staff favorite.

Light and fruity. Lots of esters with only a little bit of the "floor wax" flavor that made my beatie, Kari, call pales "dirty hobo sweat beer." Excellent product. 10/10, would buy again, even at airport prices.

It’s a great beer, especially in summer and fall. Love the look, taste and feel of it. I always drink it in cans unless I visit the brewery. Can’t think of very many beers I like more.

Served on tap in a pint glass.
Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden-orange color with a small head of white foam, which fades quite fast and leaves a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather light, being mostly of a light tropical fruit smell mixed with some pine and grapefruit. Rounding it all out are some aromas of lemon and a touch of breadiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather crisp cracker malt flavor mixed with some of the tangerine and a bit of caramel. There are some hop flavors of pine and grapefruit upfront, remaining rather constant throughout. Toward the end of the flavor transition, there is a slight loss of the sweet, and an appearance of a light lemon-lime flavor, with the mix of flavors leaving a rather crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is moderately high, both of which are good for the nature of the brew.
Overall – A light and crisp session pale ale/IPA. Pleasant and easy drinking.

L: Pours a slightly hazy (but compared to other hazy beers, not terribly hazy) straw yellow orange with a small white head and no lacing.
S: The nose starts with peach which goes away as it warms up, followed by a strong grapefruit, and notes of mango and guava. Nice that the different fruits stand out and aren't muddled together like a lot of habits.
T: Nice ripe grapefruit and grapefruit rind. A bit of hoppy bitterness, with some guava and other tropical fruit.
F: Good carbonation l, medium body.
O: This is how hazies should be, it isn't just a mess of sweet sugar but rather a distinct IPA in its own.

Color and head were off to a great start, however nose and taste were off a bit. Nose was slightly oniony and taste was definitely oniony which a lot of NE Style beers are that way.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass; born on 2/08/22. Pours opaquish straw yellow with approximately 2 fingers of head. Plenty of retention foam. Tastes of bitter citrus with good carbonation especially considering the birth date. Good.
