Pours cloudy amber with a thick off white head.

Smells strongly of spices with a hint of vanilla.

Tastes different than I expected. The vanilla is disappointingly subtle. The strongest flavor is spice with some bitterness.

Mouthfeel-Crisp and slightly carbonated.

Overall-Decent beer. I had hoped for more vanilla.

Purchased this after a tour of the brewery.

Pours with a huge head, there must be a decent bit of wheat in the malt bill here, this head looks like something I would normally see on a german wheat beer. The beer itself is a hazy and a deep straw color.

The nose is a bit hard to pick out, the beer is HEAVILY carbonated and the CO2 release is making it a little tough to get a good idea of the actual smell. I'm getting a little bit of alcohol and some candied fruit, much more going on here than I would normally expect for a belgian pale ale.

The taste is much less boozy that I would have thought from the nose, for a 7% its pretty well hidden here. There is no discernible hop character, very yeasty taste (almost like a lot of hefeweizen's) up front. Perhaps its because of the multi yeast fermentation, but I think there is quite a lot of yeast floating around here, very bready.

This is a delightful beer. It is really complex and not at all too boozy. It has a lot of characteristics like a wheat-beer and I dig that. This is a great brew. Definitely a buy again.

Pours deep honeyed amber with a chill haze and a pure foam white head. The color of this beer just glows. Head builds nicely with each pour from the bomber (bottled 5/1/13). Foam is clingy and leaves some lace. Pretty beer.

I wanted more nose with this one, but it still works. Mild funk and malty notes. Some tropical fruit in the background. A slight sour note, a little vanilla, a little wood. Aromas are great, they just aren't strong.

Yeasty, funky, malty brew, with some spicy bite and light fruit that dries out to a bitter finish. Love the transitions, though I want a touch more sweetness. Funk and mild toasty bitter to dry to bitter. Vanilla bean? I don't get it on the palate, just in the nose. Funky and yeasty for sure. This beer feels a bit raw.

Nice body, medium. This one dries out to an astringent pucker, like a dry tongue depressor.

Overall, good beer. Not a true competitor to the Belgians, but very good compared to domestic versions.
