Hit this place up earlier this week...here are my opinions:
Atmosphere: Great little place with a nice relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
Quality: Great selection of taps, mostly locals (which is a big plus in my book) with
a few others mixed into the mix.
Service: Service was great, friend, and fast.
Selection: Selection (as mentioned above) was great and from what I heard changes
ofter (which is a big plus in my book)
Food: Quality bar food w/ a decent selection
Value: Great value, happy hours you can try three beer for $7 (10oz pours).
Overall great place that I will frequent often.

The newest addition to the Federal Hill area, and the latest place to fill the shoes of the irreplaceable... Sean Bolan's pub. While nothing will likely ever take the place of Ken and the original SB's, this is the best effort I've seen so far.
There's not a whole lot the owners can do with the location here. It's fairly small and there's just no getting around that. As one walks in there is a fairly long bar to the left, with a few small tables and chairs to the right and in the front area. I have not been upstairs since BC moved in, but I have to say I like and appreciate the minimalist atmosphere of the downstairs area. As in the "good old days," the vibe is informal, laid back and completely unpretentious.
As for the beer selection, I believe the owners are committed to always having at least one beer on cask, and as with the days when this was Sean Bolans, there is almost always a firkin on the bar up front when you walk in (Black Cannon on one day, but doggie style pale today). In addition to the firkin, BC is committed to having 20 different craft beers on tap, with no crap on tap (they even seemed a bit embarrassed to have Guinness on tap, but as we're approaching St. Paddies day, what could they do). The quality of the selection is pretty good. They had racer 5 and nugget nectar this weekend, and I know they were one of two different pubs to get kegs of racer X recently as well. I spoke to the owner, and I get the impression he's doing everything he can to improve and expand upon the draft selection (I get the impression he knows there's room for improvement, but then again, this place is pretty new).
The food selection is OK, and that's probably being a bit generous. They have the usual and predictable pub grub items, with a few speciality items as well, but this really isn't much of a food destination. At least not at this point. Likewise, service isn't too bad, but I get the impression that this too is a work in progreess. The staff here are still learning about beer, though they're otherwise pleasant and cordial enough. Also, one thing I always appreciate; they have the BA rating/score for all the beers here on the menu, whether on tap or bottle. Always love to see that.
Prices are Ok, with most beers going for $5 or $5.50 a pint.
I don't know. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I'm not sure this place is going to be for everyone. In keeping with most Federal Hill beer bars, there seems to be a focus on a youngish crowd, and so I think this place is always going to get a fair number of customers coming by to see what there is cheap to drink (special prices on select beer and jamison shots today). Anyway, this is still a pretty nice palce, and we'll see how it does over time.
BTW. Although BC does have a website with a draft list, they rarely update it, and so most of the time the on-line information is not reliable.
