Been to this place twice recently, and once years ago to see the World Cup when it was Ginger's. The current bar has been in place since September 2011, after closing for a month of remodeling. Same ownership as the Globe Pub a few blocks away. The bright blue façade is pretty hard to miss driving down Ashland Ave.

Entrance is on the corner, with a pair of large open windows in the front. Bar is inside to the immediate left, with table seating along the wall and towards the back. A second spillover room is around the corner of the bar, used for events like trivia and friday reggae djs. Flatscreens line the room end to end, there's no avoiding them really. The tapbox sits low on the bar, with 16 tap handles visible. Dark wood floors & tables, walls are decorated with pub signs and mirrors, high tin-paneled ceilings.

Beer, that's why we're here... 16 taps held a variety of craft beers, mostly lighter, easy drinking styles. Highlights were Revolution Bottoms Up Wit, Cains Dark Mild, Bridgeport Dark Rain, Prima Pils, and FFF Pride & Joy. Branded glasses were used, and Trumer Pils was on special for $4. Bottle list was lengthy with plenty of filler. There was a scattershot approach with multiple beers from a handful of breweries like Bells, Capital, GLBC, Flying Dog, Goose, New Belgium, New Holland, Uinta, then assorted 1-3 beers from Anchor, DFH, Founders, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada. A handful of good seasonals mixed in at random, like Breakfast Stout and Uinta Dubhe, but there didn't seem to be much seasonal focus, just "100 random beers" more or less.

After work crowd was pretty chill, though i'd imagine it gets loud and rowdy during popular sporting events. Service at the bar was timely and friendly. Didn't try the food, but they have a lamb burger on naan bread which sounded interesting.

In an area with plenty of options (Long Room, Big Bricks, Mrs. Murphy's, Globe, Resi's, etc.) this place offers a good selection if you're looking to catch a game in Lakeview near North Center/Lincoln Square, but its more of a neighborhood place than a destination.
