Ski Pilgrimage to Vermont on the beer trail. Had to visit the prohibition pig.

Place was crowded at 7pm on a Friday night but managed to find two seats at the bar. First serving, heady topper. Delicious , citrus and pine hops, very smooth. Rest of the trip is icing on the cake. Ordered the duck fat fries and Pro Pig sandwich ground porK patty , shredded pork BBQ and cole slaw on a bun! Exceptional and recommended. Great BBQ sauces: vinegar, mild and. Habanero. My son had the Vermont crAft macaroni and cheese , excellent. Hill farmstead James, Everett and Edward. All very, very , very good. Everett my new favorite. Great food and beer, must visit (654 characters)

Loved this place. Pretty busy, managed to get a couple seats at the bar. Took a few for the bartender to get over to us, but got our drinks quickly there after. Ordered and appetizer of hush puppies that came out super fast, and really delicious. I got a barbecue pork sandwich that was great. My gf had a burger that was incredible...had some pimento cheese and fried green tomato on it that rocked. (405 characters)

If you read a bad review for this place I can understand some people may be underwhelmed by the food and beer selection. You would have to be pretty snobbish to not enjoy 3-4 Hill Farmstead options, 2 Lawson's Finest Liquid beers and of course Heady Topper. The food is smaller but you pay less too. a burger was $7 and it was excellent fresh perfectly cooked meat. I am used to NYC prices but for me this place was a great middle of the road price option. Visited twice while in the area. It doesn't hurt that they have two restaurant rooms, a brewery, and next door is the Craft Beer Cellar (which may be the best beer store in Vermont). (639 characters)

Pretty renowned Vermont landmark. The food is absolutely outstanding and the tap list is pretty impressive. The brewery is attached to the restaurant in a separate space. Great staff, quick service. Growler and crowler fills available. (235 characters)

this place is awesome, a longstanding local favorite and in the building that used to house the alchemist. it looks like they have upped their game from an epic tap list to a brewery, located in the building behind the restaurant right there in Waterbury. making something like ten barrels at a time, and doing it well. the brewery has a cool old farm house feel to it, with a big bar and some outdoor seating, and you can order the amazing food from the restaurant in there. the restaurant is an awesome building too, with a library ladder behind the bar, one of the best tap lists in the state, and some really great Vermont food, barbeque focused, but not exclusively. I had three of their beers while I was in, and all were very good. they are always busy, so its hard to get very personalized service, but everyone was nice and working hard. they had as many as eight of their own beers on, some creative and some straight forward. the vanilla bean porter was great, as was the brown ale. for the food and the guest taps alone I will be back, but their own brewery should not be overlooked, a great building with some very solid ales. make a point to check it out next time you are there. (1,193 characters)

Liked the dips very much. Only had appetizers so food rating should be ignored.
Nice folks, very comfortable setting. (117 characters)
