On tap at the Eccentric Cafe on 7/21/12
A) Deep honey amber with a layer of haziness. One finger head thins slowly and leaves scattered lace.
S) The aroma is really impressive: clean citrus hops (orange, tangerine), fresh grass, unobtrusive biscuit/cracker malt and very faint habanero overtones.
T) This tastes mighty similar to the way it smells which is a good thing. Standard-fare American pale ale notes: citrus/pine with a touch of bitterness and alight grain backdrop. The habanero is very well-integrated with the base beer. The pepper's flavor is apparent immediately. The pepper's heat, however, starts of at a minimum and builds over time.
M) Medium-light feel; fairly crisp. Carbonation is moderate but still somehow manages to feel ragged (this is my only gripe).
D) Overall, this is quite enjoyable. it's easy to see why it won.
