Poured from a bottle into a Weizen glass. A thick and fluffy white head formed and collapsed slowly. It left a reasonable amount of lacing. The body was straw-yellow and a bit cloudy before it settled. It finished to a hazy yellow body.
The malts and hops dominate the smell. Grainy notes follow the hops. The taste matches the scent pretty well. Everything seems to be well balanced in this beer. Nothing is overpowering. The carbonation is almost perfect as far as my preference for Pale Wheat Ales is concerned. It goes down rather sweet and leaves a tart finish in the mouth.
Overall: I really enjoy this beer. I am a fan of Pale Wheat Ales and this one does not disappoint. The only problem that I found was that it tasted more like a very sophisticated Adjunct Lager. Oberon Ale lacked the grainy flavors I enjoy in Wheat Ales. This is a very refreshing and drinkable beer that has become a go-to for me.
Bottom Line: Try this. It is incredibly refreshing in the summer. I would recommend this to any and all beer drinkers. Cheers!
