Oberon is a seasonal beer and I had this for the first time. It tastes so good and is on my top list of my favorite beers. I added an orange to the beer after I poured it into a glass. It was delicious! I recommend this beer to anyone who likes a lighter beer and a beer that is not super dark. I am a fan of lighter beer. (322 characters)

A - Hazy, dull orange. One finger head that fades to some moderate lacing.

S – A very nice grapefruits smell.

T - Very good. Starts off as your typical wheat beer, but then fades to a very nice ripe grapefruit taste that lingers in the aftertaste. Not too complex, but very simple and very good. The flavor doesn't feel added like some, but compliments the rest of the beer very well.

M - Great, not acidic or too sweet, very crisp.

D - High. No alcohol taste to speak of, I could drink these all day.

A great summer brew. Every year I cant weight until the first kegs hit my distributors so I can get one. This is my favorite summer brew and everyone who has tried it loves it. It’s a great hit at summer cook outs. (733 characters)

Poured from 5 litre mini keg to 22oz pisner glass.

Nice cloudy, hazy, golden nectar from the god's! Like a mixture of the sun and clouds on a perfect summer's day!

Taste is perfection for an American Wheat style! Profound in flavor truely one of a kind in this style. Wheat malt blended with low-alpha hops and perhaps a nice spicey saaz and orange rinds.

Exceptionally smooth and drinkable! This should be every wheat lover's summer staple beer! (449 characters)

A very pleasant beer with a full body and crisp clean finish with a slightly sweet and nutty aftertaste. It pairs well with beef of any type and although some will put an orange wedge or a splash of oj in it, it stands well on its own.

Even though it is a full bodied beer it does not have a heavy feeling when you drink it. (326 characters)

Bright almost backlit appearance, orange color. Medium head and carbonation. Delectably earthy, mostly morel combined with a hint of citrus smell. Clean, crisp, semi-dry taste...no lasting aftertaste. Light to medium, smooth mouth feel. Easily my current favorite domestic ale. (277 characters)

Poured a beautiful cloudy golden with a finger and a half fluffy white head that left lots of lacing. Scents of yeast, bread dough, and a bit of a citrus and orange. Flavor is crisp and refreshing with flavors of orange peel, doughy wheat bread, floral hop notes and some earthy flavors on the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied, with moderate carbonation, a bit thicker than a normal wheat beer but with less carbonation than usual. An amazing wheat ale, the best I've tasted. The best part is that you can get it easily year round in Arizona. (543 characters)

I am going to be a stereotypical Michigander right now but this is my absolute favorite beer for the summer. I love the light citrus notes and the smell of hops when you open it. Bell's does a great job with this beer and there is no question to as why it does well. Even when you first pour it looks phenomenal with it's light amber color! (340 characters)

3rd year in a row as my favorite spring-summer brew. I've sampled it every which way you can.
Orange gold. When poured in to an oversized pint glass look for a nice haze of yeast. 2 - 3"'s of beautiful creamy head that takes a little while to subside (usually can’t wait). The nose is not particularly fruity or citrusy, a touch of spice & flowers without the perfume. Very, very smooth, creamy, dry & quenching. Extremely easy to drink (too easy @ 6% ABV) the yeast is perfect with just a smidgeon of sediment left at the bottom of the glass, perfect for the next pour. (573 characters)

The best summer beer out there. Very refreshing citrusy beer without getting too sweet or sour. I've had it in bottle and on-tap and tap is certainly better, but it is still an excellent bottled beer. I have noticed, unfortunately, that it is only available in certain geographic areas of the US - not available in the Northeast, but it is available in DC and the midwest. (372 characters)

What a amazing beer. By far the best i have had. Only issue i have is it's so smooth that you can drink a 6 pack easy.

I got a 6 pack as a gift. i was amazed and loved this beer. takes the place as my new favorite beer.

It is very smooth, great flavor, great looking and goes great with cheeseburgers and friends. (315 characters)

Appearance: Golden with a hint of orange. About a one finger head. Unfiltered bits cause a cloudy look.

Aroma: Great aroma. Citrus -- orange and tangerine. The wheat also comes through with regard to smell.

Taste: Light, citrus...barely any bitterness. Mild carbonation.

Mouthfeel: Mouthfeel is good. You can taste some of the filaments, but adds to the character of the beer and is very good. Slightly thick compared to other beers of this style.

Drinkability: Highly drinkable.

On-tap is SO much better than the bottle.. makes a world of difference, but both are great. One of my favorite beers. (603 characters)

12 oz bottle has a freshness code of 9138. Pours a very hazy golden color with a large sized cap of fluffy white foam. Retention is good and leaves tons of lacing on the glass. The only eyesore with this beer is the fairly large chunks of yeasty brown sediment that settle near the bottom of the glass.

Smell mainly consists of ripened orange flesh and crisp, tangy wheat. There is some underlying bready yeast aroma and maybe even a touch of kaffir lime leaves and grassy hops.

Taste has some characteristics of a typical American wheat ale, but has a creamy, yeasty flavor that reminds me of a German hefe without the banana and cloves. There is a definite, but soft hop flavor and just enough bitterness to finish clean and easy. Leaves nary a hint of aftertaste. This is one amazing summer beer and one I would buy by the case if it were to be available in Texas. Deee-licious! (883 characters)

Oberon signifies the start of summer. Serve with a orange, and allow a bit of foam to form to induce the C02 and release the great flavor. I enjoy this beer as it is in the middle of my hops tolerance range with Bells two hearted ale being too strong for me, I opt for this beer for all the summer season. I think of it as a bit like blue moon but with much better hops flavoring. (380 characters)

A: Hazy golden body topped with a whispy white minuscule head.

S: Floral and citrus hops mixed with bread malts. Not very much to write about with appearance or scent. Very straightforward.

T: Tangy wheat with a small bit of vanilla on the front. Some fruity spices and light herbal hop flavor in the middle. The finish is bread malts with some coriander.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

D: I put the beer down in about 10-15 seconds. Once I got my first taste, I couldn't stop drinking it. Nectar of the gods sums this up perfectly. Mix the PERFECT taste with a decent ABV and you have a session brew. (618 characters)

This beer is orangey-gold in color. It smells slightly of citrus and wheat. The taste has hints of citrus with bitter notes (like an orange peel) with just a hint of spices. The body is excellent. Easy to drink on either a warm or cold day. I enjoy it with an orange slice. (273 characters)

I purchased a 6-pack of Oberon from my local Michigan beer store in May. This is Batch #8397.

The appearance is excellent with a wonderful golden hazy color.

The smell is wonderfully clean with a Witbier profile. It's taste is fantastically clean with a corriander mouthfeel.

Being 5.8% alcohol by volume it's definitely not a session beer. (343 characters)

A great beer for summer. However this beer isnt a beer a beer that can be drank all year round but on a nice hot summer day it is perfect. The taste kinda gets old after 4 beers so i limit myself to a six pack. overall a good beer and i look forward every baseball season to drinking some of this beer (301 characters)

From a mix-and-match six pack. Packaged on 5/7/14.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy gold with a hint of orange. 1/2" thick, foamy, just off-white head settles to lasting lacing. Consistent, small effervescence.

Aroma: Slight fruity hoppiness right off the bat. Orange peel fruitiness in the background with a clean, grassy bittering hop smell. Smell gets sweeter as it warms.

Taste: Clean, salty, tingly arrival. Slightly tart. Flash of malty sweetness across mid-palate, then a strong, clean (but lasting) bitterness. Leaves me wanting another sip right away.

Mouthfeel: Small bubbles, highly carbonated in a good way. I keep expecting it to feel slick, but it never does. Midweight.

Overall: This is one of those beers I buy consistently every year, and having it today reminds me why. This is a well-balanced, well-crafted, easy drinking beer. Spot on for style. (868 characters)

This beer is the definition of summer. Refreshing, smooth, crisp, and citrusy. I do believe it needs to come from on tap, cans/bottles don't provide the same enjoyment. (168 characters)

A - A murky orange-gold. Unfiltered, with visible particulate suspended in the glass. A medium head with decent retention and moderate lacing.

S - Literally smells "bright"; it's not entirely describable. Wheat, orange and yeast. Smell is full and balanced.

T - Robust wheat beer flavor. Hints of orange and spice - just perfect. What wheat beers like Shock Top and Blue Moon wish they could taste like.

M - Thicker than your average summer beer. However, not heavy in the least.

D - On a hot summer day, one of these could easily turn into six in no time.

Among my friends, Oberon has become almost synonymous with summer. Minikegs of Oberon, which are only available in the summertime, are essential for any barbeque, camping trip or casual get together. I have yet to try a better summer wheat beer. (808 characters)

Great beer, not as strong as I remember but I still enjoy it. It came out on march 23 and I just bought it for the first and definitely not the the last time of the season. I believe this is the best beer Bell's makes. In my opinion the mini keg does taste a little better than the bottle. (289 characters)
