2016 vintage; drank 5/20/16 @ Village Tap.
Murky orange appearance.
Minimal off-white head; minimal lace.
Honey, Sprite & chardonnay notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Sprite, honey & wheat flavors up front' strong booze heat notes on the finish.
Cloying & boozy, but interesting in a mead sort of way. Worth trying...once.

On draft. Didn't expect this one to be good, just because it's essentially a barleywine. And it is. Darker copper body. Sweet barley, sweet honey, minimal hopping to it, maybe a bit of floral. Biiiiiiiiiiiig sweetness, and they definitely dumped a fair bit of honey to it. Full bodied, syrupy, without much balance to it. Boozy, earthy finish. Fun beer to try, but man...

Barrel aged DIPA, brewed with honey (of course) orange and lemon peels. The 2018 version checks in at 14.4% ABV. 2017 was 16.3%.

Very unique beer......unlike anything I have ever had. Pours an orange Amber colour with very little head. Love the smell.....vanilla, oak, burnt sugar, and floral hops. The nose alone let's you know this is going to be interesting. Taste is heavy on honey and sweetness......this may have been undrinkable without the balance of the oak and vanilla. Feel is a little on the syrupy side with little carbonation.

Appearance: pours a deep burnt orange color. a small off-white to tannish head forms and has weak to moderate retention, leaving behind no lacing. Pretty dark and opaque.
Smell: strong citrus zest, oaky vanilla, booze, floral honey and some sweet malts.
Taste: opens up with a little bit of a floral honey, strongly mead like as expected. the oak barrel comes in strongly and gives of nice notes of vanilla to sugar cone. a strong booziness comes in blending well with the lingering oak taste. towards the end citrus zest comes in and all but takes over.
Mouthfeel: heavy, but not quite chewy. boozy and warming. some bitterness from the zest.
Overall: very cool beer from Bell's. it is reminiscent of two heart but becomes a whole new thing of its own. I really like the oak character and the pure strength of this one. A very cool event beer, as Bell's has many of those. Would love to see some bottles of this though.

On tap at Brass Tap in Coral Springs. As others have said, very much like a mead. The honey is the star of the show but there's also a barrel-esque quality to it as well. Reminded me slightly of a 120, but a little more approachable/less Barleywine flavor, and much smoother with the honey backbone. High abv well hidden until you stand up from your chair and realize it's hit you. A nice treat to have tried and would certainly have again if another opportunity presented itself.
